I'm curious if anyone is experiencing boredom in their lucid dreams. I have had around 6 or 7 lucid dreams, none of which lasted longer than what i thought was enough time after RC to do something sensational.

The first time being my most enjoyable lucid dream and the a couple other ones that follow were pretty cool too. But the last few times recently when i have become lucid in my dream. I'm not getting really amazed or excited once i noticed i was dreaming and nothing is really vivid. Also nothing i am experiencing feels real at all

Comments on whether anyone has had this problem, any pointers,

      thanks

I think it is odd that you say nothing you feel seems real at all. I often wake from a lucid feeling weird all day like nothing in real life is real at all. Also I've realized that I don't get extremely excited anymore from becoming lucid. I'm so used to the feeling that It's not mind-boggling anymore. I suggest you take a look at the tasks or many other things that LDers have accomplished to see if you can do them. I tend to have too many endeavors that I take on at once. There's always the tasks each month, and you can look up previous tasks to attempt them. Try changing sizes of objects, or yourself. Control time if you can....the possibilities are endless.

Don't be discouraged if your excitement isn't what is used to be....at least you won't be waking yourself up from too much excitement!

      Good luck and happy dreams!

Yeah... I was searching posts for something like this because I just had my 7th lucid and I had that feeling. Sort of a boringness or lack of motivation. I was still happy to be in lucid land and enjoyed what I saw but it was hard to do much playing round. The dream was vivid but not as clear, I even had trouble remembering everything after I woke up. I think lucidbuddha had a good point, I need to find tasks before hand to do and then I won' get over or underwhelmed when I enter a LD

whoa i Just realized this was an old post....is there a newer thread on this topic...i am very intersted to know how many others feel the same way

yeah not all LD's are very vivid- I frequently have such dreams, however I find shouting "stabilize" and "clarify!" helps make em much more vivid

I'm guessing you haven't been on for a few years, but since this dead thread has been revived I'll post in case any random beginner checks it out <.<

I'd say work on increasing recall. You may not remember all of the dream, and so you may not have memory of each moment of lucidity.
Try the stability/control techniques. Rubbing hands, spinning, shouting certain phrases as yuriy mentioned..check out the tutorial section for help on control.
As for the actual content of the lucid...not amazed/excited? If an ld is boring, it's because of you..there are so many things to do, you're just lacking ideas You can get plenty by searching the forums.

Yeah I think what happens is I get too overwhelmed and I can't think of what to do. My plan now is to have tasks lined out beforehand.... Also, a theory I have is that if one feels sleepy, unmotivated etc... in thier lucid dream its' probably because thier mind in real life is re-energized and ready to wake up. And when one has very vivid and energetic lucids it's because thier physical mind still needs rest...

on that particular morning I had already slept for 9 hours and was forcing myself to LD

interesting. I find that most of my lucids occur at around 4-5 am, later ones are usually not as vivid but need more time to pay attention to this before drawing any conclusions.

yeah, it's just a theory, but it makes sense. I've had lucids at 4-6am and they are VERY vivid, while the ones I have at 8-10 are harder to control, blurry etc... I can never lucid during naps either, although I havn't tried a whole lot
