We have a big archive full of information on lucid dreaming. The tutorial section would be a great place for you to start, just browse through all the topics and start with some general FAQs and introductions.

You can find it here http://www.dreamviews.com/forum/index.php?showforum=16

You'll also learn that you can actually use those recurring dreams to your advantage, byt recognising them as 'dreams signs/symbols'. If they're nightmares, lucid dreaming can help you to stop them and change them into something more positive, but you can read all about it in the tutorials

My first recommendation, after reading up on the basics is to start with reality checks. Especially on moment where you encounter anything even remotely related to your disturbing dream, because you'll learn to recognise it when you are dreaming, and will eventually become lucid.

Also, if you are bothered by nightmares and still cant become lucid, what also may help is before you go to bed, relax and recall your nightmare, but imagine a different, more pleasant ending. Like for instance if you are being chased by a monster you could imagine the monster leaving, or changing into something more comforting, then go from there and imagine a pleasant, fun dream. Might help

      Good luck
