I've been reading a lot of psycology books and people all over the world have strange phobias and OCD and Depression and other mental problems are world wide in all cultures in all economic cultures also. So basicly the human mind is screwed from the start and all this natural 'mentalness' leads people to create religion when they have no intelligence and no science to explain natural phenomena.

Religion is the result of a sick mind and lack of knowledge.

We all know that SP is responsible for the 'Old Hag sitting on my chest' stories and such and we know what SP is now and it is not some spiritual demon or alien shit.

I HATE religion with a passion. Ignorant bastards. Talk about being asleep and making up stories instead of seeing what is really there.
That is a very ignorrant thing to say.
You could have very well insulted tons of people on this forum.

I may have my doubts about religion, but I'm not just going to say that religion is stupid.

That is one of those comments that you just keep to yourself.

Well im totally with religion, i believe many things are just in people's minds but to me personally the idea of been self created i think can be well linked to biblical texts. I just think the idea of god souds very logical, and to me a proof of that is dreams cuz we dont "evolutionarily" need them so why have them u know? i just personally (without judging anyone here's opinion) believe in God.
      but AGAIN thats off topic

I'm 15 and I'm learning to lucid dream. I'm a gamer, car enthusiast, free-runner, tricker, and I like to draw from time to time. (though not very good)

Yeah, when I first told my mom about LDing I think she thought I was crazy, I didn't like that feeling (but I openly admit I am)...
(...now that I think about it maybe she was just surprised, I went out to breakfast with her not too long ago and she said her mom was into that kind of stuff and she thought it was interesting...oh well)

Now when I tell people about lucid dreaming, which isn't often, I lure them into it. which goes sort of like this...

Me- ever want to do something not possible in reality?
Friend- hmmm... I always wanted to fly, with big angel wings, ya know?
Me-What if I told you you can?
      Friend- Yeah right...
      Me- honestly, try lucid dreaming.
*I continued to tell him about LDing*

      True conversation BTW

and then im called a LOCO(spanish for crazy).
i should try that approach though

Sorry to get off topic, but Marijuana is NOT, I repeat - NOT a gateway drug. This is a myth that has been debunked many, MANY times. Aprox. 80% of people who use/try Marijuana never go on to anything harder. You might as well say that all the people who do harder drugs, started on milk...it's just because it's more common that you see such a misleading correlation.

In fact Marijuana has been used successfully buy numerous drug rehabilitation clinics in Western Canada to help patients break addictions to Methamphetamine.

On September 6, 1988, the Drug Enforcement Administration's Chief Administrative Law Judge, Francis L. Young, ruled: "Marijuana, in its natural form, is one of the safest therapeutically active substances known....

I'm 21, a mathematician, film maker, drummer, adventure seeker, climber/free-runner, lover of both nature and technology, party animal, and an oneironaut.

Something I find interesting is how many people admitted some sort of artistic inclination. I wonder if this percentage is greater among lucid dreamers than among the general population, and if so in which direction the correlation falls.

I guess I'm Marvo. Marvo is actually my secondary nickname though. Normally, I call myself Rambowjo. In the real world, I'm known as either Erik, or Kuur. I have no idea why people call me Kuur though.

Anyway, I work in a greenhouse, where we produce lots and lots of cress. We support just about 40% of the entire country of Denmark with cress
I'm also in school, ninth grade. Going to HTX (Higher Technical Exame) next year. It's a 3 year studium thing, where I'll expand my mathematical, danish, english and some other capacities alot.
In my freetime I work, play computer games, surf on the web and do parkour. I'm not quite the traceur, but I do most certainly have my fun with it.
I'm not sure if I'm an oneironaut, though I do most definitely use alot of time on lucid-dreaming.

      Happy dreaming

Name: Umbrella (no, that's not my real name)
      Occupation: student (Japanese)
Sports: volleyball, and soccer from time to time
Other hobbies: poker, drinking beer, laughing, computer games, stuff, exploring the subjective reality known as the dreamworld

      sup...

Anyway, I just make sure I explain lucid dreaming very clearly when I talk about it. I never make it sound like it's something "trippy", but rather something that makes complete sense. Most people have had some kind of experience with (things connected to) lucid dreams. They just don't know you can actually train yourself to have them more often.
      A dream
is a reality that others cannot see.
      Reality
is a dream you share with others.

That dosen't seem to tie in with anything you said.

      Although wet dreams are nice.

You sure have pretty bad grammer for a budding genius, entepreneur, businessman, web designer, logo designer and computer expert.

Heh... the way you explain it from person to person without looking like a fool varies. you have to alter your presentation of the subject depending on who your talking to.

      bad grammer
lol i don't mind really. I have perfect grammar when I can be bothered, although I was typing on a psp, which is possibly one of the most infuriating tasks one could possibly dream to inflict upon another human being.

So what about talking to like a very extremely well educated individual like a Teacher and stuff? They are always like the biggest skeptics and ego shatterers EVER! i just dont know how to approach them anymore

I would have to know what they're like.
It is more of a instinctive (for lack of a better word...) thing for me, I can sort of just "tell".

For a teacher... I would say peak their interest without sounding like a maniac. Also don't put it blatantly, and try to mix some fact.
Just use your own judgment using your knowledge about that person. (Actually this applies to most scenarios :p)

EDIT: by fact I mean common knowledge, or "reasonable" facts. Everyone at Dream views knows lucid dreaming is real

I guess thats why people think of Oneironauts this way cuz they think we live in our dreams and we have no lifes outside of them....man if everyone was taught to LD as little kids this world would be better...
