People are always skeptical about what's not "normal" to them. It happens. Enjoy your fun, reap the rewards, and leave your friends out of it unless they come to you or you can tell they're ready for it.

I agree, i read in a book about how everyone has their "safe house" in their heads about reality to which they retreat to when they see something that is not "normal" and they dont agree with. i.e. if someone saw a flying blue elephant and then said "wait there has to be an explanation", they are retreating to their place of safety. Instead of accepting it as the reality that is there they look all over for an explanation and a cause. i hope everyone here however is a person willing to accept reality as it is happening and question it but not willing cut it into pieces to show that they are not dreaming.

i tried to explain LD'ing to my mom but she thinks "doing it might make you psycho. watch out. you wouldn't want fantasy and reality to mix up would you." so i just don't bother to argue with it.

One of the advantages of lucid dreaming is that nobody has to know you do it if you don't want to... It's not a big deal, but some people just have to make a fuss about everything so... it's definetely an advantage!

yeah i know i have a problem with that, talking to everyone about everything i do.

for one thing getting into the pick up community, which is something that EVERYONE who does needs to keep to themselves unless they've begun reaping the results and friends who need it and seem ready for it need instruction. i made the mistake of blabbing about all this theory i learned to everyone

so same thing with LDing. talk about it with your close friends if you want. but if its not their cup of tea then ignore what they say

      straight up bomber here too.
Anyways i think the reason that people always argue abou this is that they just have not been able to experience this. I mean people tell me "dude you're not dreaming, LIVE IN THE NOW!! dreams are just dreams!!!" but i tell them to fuck-off and that they just dont know what its like to question reality in hopes that in one of those RCs they will be able to realize that they can move the skies and fly anywhere or move any mountain!!
i think we as Oneironauts have this bad fame of weirdos because we live in the unknown ya know?

i like living i the unknown. i have expierenced things that other people can't even imagine. walking through walls, flying, space, telekinises and even extreme stuff to highspeed car accidents and jumps. people just don't understand that we expierence these things. Not just dream them.

ah let all those boring people think that lucid dreaming is dumb. They dont get to fly lol

Yeah, it's just like being in another reality...
I think people find lucid dreaming to be sort of an escape-from-reality sort of thing. A friend of mine says "I smoke drugs, so what? I'm in shit, so what? I might go crazy, so...?". I feel like saying the same thing to people about lucid dreaming, and I would add "plus it's damn fun and it takes no time out of my day!!!"

Well now that I got a tattoo that seems to be how I mention LD'ing to people. I have the Tibetan symbol for the sound "aaaah" which Tibetan monks used for meditation into lucid dreams. That's about the exact spiel I give off when people ask me what my tattoo means. They usually look at me weird, maybe say "hmmm", and then say they like it, lol.
I will talk about it to anyone who shows any interest in dreaming or any friend of mine which respects my thinking. I also try to bring it up as much as possible in classes hoping a professor has knowledge I can latch onto. I rarely find people in real life that lucid dream but I had a boyfriend a few years ago who was an avid lucid dreamer.

Anyways, to answer the question I would say:
I am a thinker and a learner first and foremost.

I also cliff jump, haven't yet this season, but I'm sure good times are ahead. Cliff jumping is f'in awesome and I'd say I prefer the real experience thought I've not actually cliff jumped in dreams. However, sometimes dreams feel realer than real...especially lucid dreams.

I definately do Sebster! It is something that is very important to me and I hold with very high regard in this life!!
It's still very puffy since this picture was taken about 20 mins after I got it done. Also I got the line work touched up a few weeks ago so it looks better than that. Amazingly that's only the third tattoo my friend ever did after he started. Free tattoos are the shit

Not to verge too far off topic but what religion is that? I don't think I've heard of a religion where you can't get tats! Interesting!

Well im an Apostolic Christian....there are many things in this denomination of christianity i dont agree with ya know? and i can't do anything about it cuz of my parents and stuff. I used to be very open about my disagreements but now i just keep them on the low cuz my church is like against me now (specially cuz i openly defend Bhuddists and Muslims which is strange to most people cuz im Mexican). so yeah just so you know people, if ya wanna keep your stuff and want no one to tell you what youre doing is wrong even though you know it aint stick to your beliefs

YEa, I used to go to church with my family and get religion shoved down my throat. After awhile I just flat out told them, listen, i don't believe in this stuff and you can't force me to. No, they didn't like it at all, but over time they've come to accept the fact that I am just not like them! On occasion I will go just out of respect to my families beliefs, ie. weddings, mass for a fam. member, baptism, communion, Easter, Christmas, shit like that. But they know I don't buy all that Catholic BS.

SEBSTER- Be honest with them! Let them know you feel you should have the right to choose your own religion based on a set of morals and code of ethics and philosophy you feel most comfortable with, and if you can't find one, you have the right to be religionless!

But this is getting wayyyy off topic now, lol. If you need guidance you can message me!
