      How fast can you WILD?

For the last few nights I've been trying to. Normally I just get discouraged and then try to go to sleep.

Without sleeping the 5-6 hours before hand, in how many minutes do you achieve sleep paralysis? Just curious to find an average.

btw, is there just nothing to it other than staying still and keeping a clear mind?

Trying to WILD right on going to bed has been completely impossible for me. The only successes I've had have been after at least a few hours of sleep.

As far as what's involved, the way I experience it is like this; I find a way to hold on to a "thread of consciousness" while falling asleep. This can be tricky... I've used counting and concentration on hypnogogic imagery, the latter which has been the best for me.

Then it gets weird though. Once your HI is vivid 3d, you need to get into the dream without waking up. The only way I can do that is to "let go" and trust I will regain consciousness in the dream. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. If I don't "let go," I will wake up.

This is just the most general recap of on guy's way of doing it. There are many methods, some which have resulted in excellent results for some people. Do some searching - you'll find a lot about it around here.

      Keep trying!

Little bit tricky to determine how fast or slow someone is percieving time isn't it? lol... for me it's a little backwards from soadfreakes experience...It takes me about 30 minutes to get into full sleep paralysis, but after that only a few seconds to a minute to get into seeing HI. I always fall asleep trying to do a WILD anyway. The closest I've gotten before falling asleep took about 15 minutes I would guess.

Ok, this doesn't really count but when i attempted a WILD it took me about 2 hours for my whole body except my head to go numb, but i could easily get out of it though
