      Not Able To Wild?

      I find this frusterating.
You know how every once in a while when your sleeping, you wake up after a dream.
These are usually 5-6 hours after I fall asleep initally, so I don't bother with an alarm clock.

Anyways, lots of times when I have that, I turn my light on, go wash my face with water, turn my psp on and play some games for about 15 minutes. Just enough so that I'm awake.

Then I'll get into bed, thinking about stuff constantly.
I'll get to about the stage where I start to see colors passing by my face, when (I don't realize at the time) but I doze off out of nowhere.

      Any tips?

You have to pay attention to the images, but not too intently. Kind of just watch them as you watch TV or something. You want to keep focusing on your breathing or whatever relaxation technique you are doing as well.

I've never WILDed in my life. I've come to grips with the fact that I'm just not meant to. Try some other techniques - WILD is notoriously one of the most difficult induction techniques. Different techniques work better for different people, so if WILDing isn't happening for you, don't sweat it - just work on something else.

Alright, thanks for the replies, guys.

      Maybe I'll try a MILD.
Hypnosis seems to be working quite well.
That one with the English guy was good for me.

      Hey,
i was about to start a new topic when i noticed this here, so i decided i cant be the only one with this problem,

Ive tried Wild a little in the last week or so and i get to about the part where i see images and stuff and then i just fall out of it and wake up....i get really pissed when this happens and cant get back into that state...so naturally...i cant Wild,

mind you that ive only tried this 3 times so far and maybe it will work tonight (who knows?)

More than likely, you don't actually wake up, you just have a false-awakening.

Next time that happens, do a reality check
(plug your nose and try to breathe, count the fingers on your hand, etc.)

I know I have troubles with WILDing, but here's a technique:

Tense as many muscles in your body as you can and hold your breath. When you run out of breath, let your muscles go and you'll feel yourself "deflating," as I put it. Keep doing this until your body is relaxed. It helps your body relax faster than your brain does.
In a world where darkness is fear, there's always that light at the end of the tunnel.

      No problem.

Glad to hear you had your first LD.

      Hopefully more to come
