can your dream mind stop you becoming lucid?

      I saw it here:http://leovolont.blogspot.com/2007/0...aggerated.html
Quote:"I’ve heard from some Lucid Dreamers, a rare few, who said that they were able to eventually acquire a great deal of control over their dreams and were even able to detect the false awakenings. Then, you know what? The Dream Mind decided to entirely shut them down. Suddenly they could no longer even remember their dreams. For all they knew, they no longer dreamt."
does this hold any truth? will my lucids eventually be stopped?
is it against my minds will to become lucid?
thanks as usual all replys are welcomed.

I'm sure that's only in extreme cases, as in, lucid every single REM period, every single day, for five years or something equaly anomalous. I assume we must benefit somehow from non lucid dreams. I just don't know how.

I wouldn't worry about it. Unless you WILD all night, every night, successfully, for the rest of your life or something. xD

      I personally don't believe it.
But there are certain things that your mind does for sure to prevent you from becoming lucid.

For example, while having a non-lucid dream, have you ever wondered why there was a spaceship parked on your roof? Or why your having sex with a person you have never seen before? And why the hell didn't you even think to do a reality check after seeing this?
Your mind shuts down the part that thinks logically, therefore everything will seem to make perfect sense as it comes.

But thats where the methods come in.
The methods keep your mind awake while you slip off to sleep and thus it is much easier to become lucid than halfway through a dream. If you know what I'm saying.

There must be some kind of natural sensation in your body that says Lucid Dreaming=Bad and keeps it at that. But that doesn't mean you can't LD at all. It just means that your body will do everything it can to prevent you from LDing, without actually shutting down your REM process altogether.

Maybe its true, but I doubt it.

It may be true, Swikity... I mean, it's hard to believe that LDs are even possible let alone that we can induce them at will given enough practice/skill. We already have this "real" world to live in, so why would our body want to allow this "alternate reality"? I think our body naturally tries to shut down LDs for this reason.

For example, I napped today from around 2:00 to 3:30, and had about 5 times where I woke up from a dream, remembered to try and become lucid next time, then went back to sleep immediately and had a dream but wasn't lucid. There's something going on with that. The brain automatically shuts off our logic when we sleep.
      Stay lucid, stay WILD!

Well it is from Leo Volont's blog, and we all know (or have heard) what a dickens he used to be. So I'm sceptical to say the least. Also it seems odd that one night SUDDENLY you just can't dream any more. So, personally, I think that it's BS.
