My DILDs instantly teleport me home!

99% without fail, whenever I have a DILD, the instant I become lucid I automatically end up back at home no matter where or what I was doing prior to becoming lucid.

This is not even intentional, it just happens.

I don't mind this a bit. Actually I find it rather convenient seeing as my home and yard are well suited for my "regular" lucid routine.

Does this happen to anyone else?

I've noticed that at least 50% of my LDs lately occur in my house. I don't think it's that they teleport me there, but that it's just where they start. I also find it convenient, since it's easier to do things when you know your surroundings as well as I know my home. For example, instead of having to summon objects, I can just remember where in my house something similar to what I'm looking for is found, and go get it.

While I’m not teleported there, 50% of my LDs seem to be in my home. While this is kind of neat messing around in your dream home, I prefer the ones that are set in a little more exciting and interesting locales. Like standing on top of a giant dam spanning kilometers into the sky, looking down on a lush green valley surrounded by purple mountains . Don't have ones like that often, but better than just my old house.

That's a false awakening, if you're "waking up" in your bed. Which is good for LDs.

Try dream spinning to change the scene. Or create a jetpack and fly there

Haven't been able to change the scene with spinning so far, i just stay where i was initially (though it is useful when i feel myself about to wake up). Will have to give the jet pack a try though if i can manage to fly without waking up in the process.

Allocate a specific room in your house to the "exit room" its like a hologram chamber from star trek. Press a few buttons outside it then step thoguh the doorway and you're somewhere different.

haha tried that one too, but since i know the whole layout of my house and yard, if i walked through a door that was, say against my upstairs wall, i'd just fall into my backyard. I'll have to use more willpower in the future though and just expect to come out somewhere different.

No, like.. pick an actual room. Preferably a room you don't visit much. I have this nice wooden door in my basement into my furnace room (which I never go into) Its easy to work up the feeling that that particular door will lead me to somewhere else.

strange, I never remember being in my house in dreams. I guess I'm just so used to it that I forget. But that room idea is bad ass.

I tried that once. I ended up charging dramatically into my bathroom.

Almost all of my lucid dreams start out in my house. It must be easier to go lucid there because you are more familiar with it and you can notice changes easier. I often forget there is an exit to my house and end up trapped inside.

Mine are more likely to be in the house I grew up in. I haven't been there for about 20 years.

Are you actually believing it will lead to where you want to go? Remember, this is all your mind/SC, YOU CONTROL IT!

Also, try stepping through a mirror. Mirrors in dreams are usually liquid, and you don't know what's on the other side of the mirror!

I think I remember someone mentioning this before, but stepping through the scene in a picture would prob work as well. I always see the most fantastic paintings in my dreams, but never thought to walk into them.

Whoa, no way! Same here. Either that, or I become lucid after the dream scene transfers to my room.

I can especially sympathize with how your yard is an ideal lucid scene. My backyard is a vast forest. What's yours? xD

Damn you're lucky, mine is just an small square lot in the middle of suburbia. Would love to live right next to a huge forest.

Eh, it's not all that great. Too muddy to explore in waking life, and we get an assload of mosquitos and ticks. It's a pain in the butt when one of my dogs gets loose out there... But in my lucid dreams, the forest provides the perfect place for exploration, summoning, and travel.

Back on topic with the thread. Interestingly enough, although since we've lived here we've added two produce gardens and a shed, the yard in my dream is empty and leads directly to the forest (which looks different every time. This time, the trees were sparse and somebody planted domestic grass there!).

I find it's easiest to spin as you're being "teleported" - tell yourself you will stay where you are and spin, works for me. This has happened in all bar one of my DILDs and usually if I let myself get home I lose lucidity and forget to RC (I'm working on the RCing), although if you can stay lucid it may not be a problem anyway - just imagine a door behind you that can lead you to wherever you want and when you turn round it will be waiting for you.
