      Unhappy Soo close...

Uhhhh... soo close. I had a dream and then woke up. Usually when I wake up from a dream in the middle of the night, I fall back asleep and reenter the same dream. So, when I woke up, I used the dream I just had as a temporary dream sign. So I got in my dream, and became lucid. But as soon as I became lucid, I felt it fading. Somehow, my dream mind couldn't remember to spin in a circle. Instead, I kept counting to three and saying to myself that when I get to three, my dream would be clear again. It worked the first two times, but then I woke up.

Congrats on having a lucid dream!

I say congrats as the important thing to remember is that you got lucid and that it will happen again! Remaining in a lucid dream will come with practice!

NOTE: The next time you decide to try for a lucid dream, you might want to mentally "practice" what you'll do in case your dream starts to fade.. that way you'll have a plan ready when it happens.

Yay, my first lucid dream only lasted a few seconds too.
But while reading your post I remembered a situation years ago: I was in a dream, then suddenly, I could hear what was going on in the real world, and at the same time I was still dreaming, and thought: `Mh, do I want to get up already? It's such a nice dream, nah, I'll dream on!', enetered the dream again, lost consciousness, a non lucid dream.
      But still, it felt strange

      grats on your lucid dream
ive made it a habbit for me - everytime i enter a lucid dream i take a moment, chill, and think what i planned on doing my next LD.
like people said before, you will improve and you already did good with the count to three technique. good luck.
