Exclamation My DC's are Sabotaging Me

I'm pretty new here, but I've got a weird little problem:

Being rather inexperienced, I have to do a few methods when I go lucid to get clarity up to par...

Lately, before I have a chance to, the Dream Characters that happened to be around will start getting in my way, and it seems they are intentionally trying to make me lose lucidity.

This happens in a variety of ways... one that is particularly stuck in my mind is a friend of mine who (while in my dreams) has a habit of... er... defecating on trees. Other people will run in front of me, and start screaming gibberish. Some will follow me around turning scenery into eggs. (???)

They seem to distract me too quickly to react. Any one have any suggestions to use, at least until I can naturally overcome the DC's?

      Thanks in Advance!

      Well...I can somewhat relate.

Your DCs are somewhat just "holograms" of your subconscious.

Your goal is to increase lucidity, and what you are afraid of or do not want to happen is the opposite- Low clarity/loose clarity or the dream.

Your subconscious knows this, and it seems to be while your in the "dream world" this is often how it embodies thoughts and such.

Often times while lucid, I had been trying to hook up with a girl-friend of mine (Which might make my gf mad ) and would have a DC run up behind me or try to wreck the situation. I even asked a DC where a girl I was looking for was (summoning method) and she wouldn't tell me, and said something rude.

What I usually do is just become aware and realize that I can easily control what goes on, and just think or even say- "Stop" or something of that nature, or will them away and carry on with what I'm doing as if nothing happened.

      It seems to work
Lucid Dream Count: N/A (3-7 a week average)

      Current Goal(s): Master dream control/length, Master WILD'ing

Have no fear; For the power behind you is greater than any problem ahead of you.

HA looks like you have a little bit of a problem there then mate. I had a DC which i final got rid fo the other night which during my 10 years of lucid has tried to kill me on 6 different occasions. What i recon you have to do is just focus yourself on one of them as a starter and just try to get rid of him/her and then the next night get rid of the rest. It looks like once you have gotten past them DC's then ul be fine at LDing.

I have that problem as well from time to time. In one lucid, the DCs were so annoying, I flew to get away from them, because I knew what they were trying to do. But whatever was trying to distract me from lucidity didn't stop there. It made mountains burst out of the ground to try to knock me out of the sky.

The whole dream was just one series of events after another that seemed designed with the sole purpose of distracting me from lucidity. I never had a moment to even stop and think, only react to the next one.

The Cusp hit the nail on the head

In my last lucid, the first thing I did was try to make all DC's around me disappear. Instead of them disappearing, they were replaced by other DC's... in this case, a pair of giant purple legs.

Next time I'll try closing my eyes.

Thanks for the input everyone :p

      A message

Dream characters play an important role in the phyche's manuscript to be played out by your subconscious.
Stop, look listen and see what these DCs have to say.
Your subconscious (you) may be trying to tell you something.
