      My false-false-awakening

      Hi, I'm new to this website. Just thought I should share my false false awakening story cause I always like telling it.

      When I was around 8, long before I knew about LD and false awakenings, I woke up in the middle of the night to find something very strange. Batman was in my room, staring at me. I was utterly confused. I was sure I was still dreaming, because Batman and I are not casual acquaintances. I kept trying to wake up, but I couldn't. It was impossible, yet there he was, all six feet of him. After much rational thought, I turned on the light and walked up to him. Turns out my parents went to some movie store or something and bought one of those freestanding cardboard cutouts of people and they snuck in my room at night and place it there while I was sleeping.

      And that is the most confusing moment of my life.

      Haha! Welcome to DV. I remember having an onslaught of FAs at around age 8. No Batman, though. Possibly Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Especially the purple one!

      Hey welcome to th forum; although confused, if it was a cardboard cutout and you were actually awake this would not be a False Awakening, you would actually be awake lol

      No, it was not a false awakening, but I thought it was a false awakening. Now that I'm mentioning it, I wonder where that batman cutout went?

      hahaha. My parents used to do the same thing to me with stuffed animals. Every moring when I woke up I would look under my bed to see if there was a monster under there. Well... on one unfortunate morning when I was about 6, there was a collection of stuffed animals staring back at me. I was freaked out for the longest time after that.

      Welcome as well. If my parents did that you would have no idea how loud I would yell and freak out. To have some 6 foot figure standing in the distance in my room would be enough to make me wet the bed >_>
