Lucid dreams without a "rush" ?

      Hi all dreamers..
The first 2 or 3 times I had a Lucid Dream, I had this rush where everything just became much clearer and stuff. Almost like an invisible blast.
But now, when I have LD i don't get any real feeling of it, besides thinking it is awsome, and everything is vivid too, I just don't get the rush of it..

Is is the same to you guys and girls ?

I've become that way too. Not always but, in many of my LDs I no longer have the same feeling of amazement that I experienced in the first year or two. That's not to say that I don't get a thrill out of becoming aware. I definitely feel a thrill every time but it's much more muzzled than it once was.

You learn after awhile that keeping your composure is the best way to go. So you try not to allow yourself to become too overwhelmed with emotion

This is exactly right - and the hugest trap for beginners. I remember my first teenage lucid. It was a split-second. As soon as I had realised, my mind dragged me up.

I am still only a beginner, but I have learned to control it. A few times I have become lucid, only to lose clarity straight away. Then I learned to regain clarity. Now - I usually have a momentary flash of vividness and even fuzzy, wavy air. The more I get excited or try to force the dream, the more it begins to fade. You have to retain composure.

But yes - I still get that little rushy flash like you say - though I have only had about 6-7 lucids.

      23 years and still rushing!

Somedays it is common place, practice skills, fly around, whatever. However, you will find new rushes every year. The first time i ran my hand over a dripping ice sickle. Seeing prisms of light through some raindrops on a surface. Lately looking up into a weird storm cloud and seeing some kind of god-like being while 3 otherwordly women had thier arms around my shoulders like good friends. Wow I cried! In the dream I actually bawled my heart out. And I did not loose the lucidity, the rush was part of the experiance.
Peace Be With You. Oh, and sure, The Force too, why not.

Yeh after u'v had lots of ld's it becomes normal to u to have ld's and u get used to the whole idea and therefore not getting as excited as u would have back in your early lding days which leads to longer ld's.

But of course thats not to say u still don't get a huge thrill from ld's!

      Thanks for the answers !
I just think it's weird that the rush disappeared after just 2 or 3 LD's..But yea, they are starting to get longer, this night I had a half hour LD I think, which is my first long LD..

You see, it's a double-edged sword as you're beginning to discover. The sheer startle-ment and awe wanes but, in its place, you learn the ability to do new, exciting things. The more skilled you become, the more potential you have to be thrilled in all new ways. That's where the real harvest is reaped. Those rewards breed their own flavors of awe and amazement.

Aye, I get that now too.

But you know what? It's a good thing. This rush of excitement has a habit of waking people up for starters. Also, I find without the rush I can appreciate the little things in LD's more, like the personality of a DC or the construction of the dreamscape, while I still have the option to go crazy mad with power.

Man, every time I get that rush where I realize I'm dreaming I usually wake up. It really sucks
Why does it seem so hard to wake up now and see who we really are?
