Great topic. I've wondered about this myself in the past so I'm glad to see this being discussed. For some reason, multilingualism has always fascinated me. Maybe because I never learned a second language and because some languages sound so beautiful, almost musical.
So, some of you are aware of actual language being used in dreams. That's how I seem to dream. At least the dream dialogs I recall seem to have occurred under the guise of the spoken tongue. I don't think I've ever recalled dreaming in any language other than English though.
Some of you say you only use the language you'd use when speaking to that person in real life.
Finally, some say that they don't recall using actual words, only thoughts, in a way. I suspect that most dreaming takes place this way. But, when I have dream conversations it usually seems to be in the form of audible, intelligible words. At least that's what I believe. Maybe only the remembered parts were that way. Maybe it's really all "telepathic" but we perceive words in the form of thoughts without stimulation of the audio cortex.
I wonder how wrong that last paragraph is. I also wonder why it seems to be different for different people.
Interesting topic; do carry on.
