I can hear the outside world during naps

Now I successfully wild during a nap, it took about an hour of waiting but I did it. Something strange happened about half an hour into my lucid dream. I had a lucid dream of a voice trying to sell me something, I thought it was a camera lens as my last lucid dream before false awakening was about photography, however it was a device to draw perspective properly. I could hear a voice saying you have to buy this over and over again.
Before the voice, I did a backflip in my dream and then I landed and got intangled and I did a false awankening, and then a voice said buy this now. I was in my room and a disfigured person was saying this, I couldn't see their voice however it was scary. I ran out of my house and then I ended up somehow back in my house, I couldn't escape the voice so I decide to get out of the dream. The voice went silent however came back again so I looked up like a post said to awake from dream, and then I was in my sheet and awake.

When I was awake I looked in the bedroom and saw one of the discount shows where they were selling you stuff. It was the same voice, I could hear his voice in the dream. I didn't know you could sometimes hear the outside world. Dammit I woke myself up for nothing.

So yeah you can hear the outside world when in a lucid dream.

      Hey there,

This sort of thing is quite common, not just in lucid dreams but in regular dreams too. While our sleeping body may be paralysed, our senses are not 'shut off', and they still send stimuli to the brain about what's happening around them. So feelings or sounds or even tastes and even sometimes visuals (mostly changes in the light) can end up in your dream.

Popular culture is full of examples of this, btw. The movie in which a guy is dreaming about kissing a beautiful girl because his dog is licking his face. Dreams where you dream your arm is paralysed cause you're sleeping on it and it has gone completely numb. Annoying sounds in your dream that constantly threaten to interrupt you because your alarm is playing.

Basically, this kind of thing usually happens when your dream is pretty light and you're close to awakening. Which is at the same time a perfect scenario for lucid dreams

When I lucid dream I nearly always hear the "outside" world. My mom is the same way. When Im dreaming I nearly always hear voices or the t.v. from downstairs. For me its a great way to realize Im dreaming. I also have a blurry vision of my room when I LD. Like of the curtains and stuff.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I always sleep with my TV on, and sometimes people from the TV that is on while I am sleeping appear in my dream.

I can often hear my breath on the pillow during my WILDs. It's pretty cool actually, because it doesn't feel like it is coming from you during the dream. It is very peaceful.
