      My lucid dream!!!

      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

      November 4, 2003 - November 5
I had my fourth lucid dream last night and I'm extremely happy, not to mention awake. It didn't do anything more than I did in the other ones, but at certain points it was sooo real. It was as real as me just checking my watch right now and if it changes than I'm gonna go out of my house in the middle of the night... it's kinda scary, but not. During the dream I kept noting things to real life so I would be able to remember them. That might have been the reason I remembered this one. Here I go...
I was washing my bath tub for some reason with a loomfa I think and I somehow fell asleep. I awoke later and checked to see what time it was (I _ just _ got my new watch in real life). It said 8 or something but I had goggles on and they were covered with foam. I put water on them and looked again and it switched so the hour was 9. I was kind of like, "Well I have crap on my goggles so I'm not seeing straight. (This is where most people gave up) I want to know the time though". I did it again and when I could see straight the time changed when I looked away and looked back. I'm like, "Holy crap dude, I'm pretty damn happy." I had to keep myself calm as the internet says so I didn't go crazy. I tried to fly (I forget where) and it didn't work. I didn't want to lose lucidity so I looked at my feet (grounding myself????) and then I looked at my hands. It was too dark to see them. I tried to sink through my computor by putting my hands on the moniter and imagining my hands going through. I tried my watch light but it didn't work (go figure!). I walked out into my hallway and it was very dark. This part felt real. I was kind of scared. I walked slowly. I warped onto an atv with my dad and I started telling him how I was happy I got in a lucid dream. He said good job or something. We were going down some sort of trail and down my bad driveway. While going down I asked my dad if he relized that he is all in my head and everything. He said yes that he knew. I saw my brother and I waved my hand and said, "THIS IS A DREAM!!!!" I said that again and maybe again and I went over. He didn't believe it. My sister was there after a while too. I asked him a weird question and I was about to say that the answer didn't matter becuase everything that he said was what I think he would say because of my perspective of him. I didn't say that though. I tried to fly (my brother said that he thought gliding wasn't a big deal) but I started gliding and I hid the ground in anger at mid air. I ran back over and jumped while yelling. I think I hurt my sister's ears. I saw some blue gray rectangle that I took note of by my dad. I _just_ remembered that I did fly in this dream. I was in the air (obviously) and I didn't want to use my arms because they didn't help. I imagined dragon wings (by the help of someone on the forum) and nothing came there, maybe some sounds and maybe mist like substances but I flew better. It wasn't that exiting though. It wasn't as real as the other part of the dream either. Later in the dream I checked my hands again and there were like vertical lines, nothing that much different.
After this lucid dream, I had some crazy ass follow up dreams, most I don't remember. In one of them I told about 3 people that I had a lucid dream (I do this a lot) in my dream. The bath tub part made me not sure if right now is a dream or not... I _really_ can't tell...

LUCIDITY: 8/10: I couldn't do some things, but I remembered it pretty well.
EXHILERATION: 8/10. At some places it was sooo real, but I didn't do anything that exiting.
VIVIDNESS: 5/10: As I said, in some places it was very vivid, but it wasn't that vivid overall.
ESTIMATED TIME: It felt like 5 minutes of being lucid, but not being able to do most stuff.
      OVERALL: ... 21/30

Also, some kid in my class knows he is dreaming almost every dream and thought everybody dreamed that way. He can't really control it though, he just goes with the flow.

I think people who get lucid easily never really take advantage of their dreams and tend to not see what the big deal is.

I used to have really lame lucid dreams all the time when I slept during class, and I never really thought anything of them. Dream control never occured to me, so I never did much of anything that I wouldn't do in real life.

My one really great lucid dream that I've had was one hell of an experience, though. It's interesting to read how you interacted with your dream characters and comparing it to what I did. The first thing I did was pull out a gun and kill the guy I was standing next to, just to completely come to terms with the fact that none of what was happening was real.

I did have a dream once where I told my mother about the dream I'd just had earlier that night. It wasn't a lucid one, but still... I've been there... and when I woke up I felt pretty stupid for not becoming lucid in the second dream.

Also: I've heard that when trying to fly, it's easier to think of trying to move the world underneath you than to try to move yourself through the air. Never tried it though. I haven't had too much trouble with getting off the ground, but my speed and altitude could use a little help, so maybe next time I'll give it a shot.

You might also try climbing something like a tower or cliff or imaginig yourself at the top of a building or something, then jumping off... gliding is sometimes a good way to practice flying... or you can also imagine hovering a few feet above ground, then moving towards an object or point on the horizon...

You can also try flying not like superman style but standing up, or siting as if in a meditative position. Agree with Silver Sphere that jumping from a height helps too. One of my favorite superpowers is going through wall, because you can imagine things on the other side and help make them appears. It is also a weird sensation going through matter.

As for looking at the clock and seeing it change, that's a great technique. If you ever find yourself withotu a clock or books, you can close your eyes for a couple of seconds and then open them again and see if the scenary changes to tip you off that you are dreaming

Actually Silver Sphere didn't say that...

      ...just kidding.

Actually, NOT flying superman style is what I was alluding to. I usually fly in a standing position unless I'm very high above the ground. It feels more natural that way- like standing on a magic carpet or surfboard (silver-surfer style only without the cosmic surfboard, dude! ).
As for going through matter I usually hate it and only do it when I "have to because it feels so strange -like you're becoming part of the matter as you move through it...

Aw, I like taking credit for things I didn't do! As long as they're good...

I enjoy going through solid objects, and compared to some things other people have said I have a pretty easy time with it. I always think of the Martian dude from Justice League when I do it. Superheroes and Jedi have probably come a long way when helping me with dream control.
