      LD related Songs?

I remember someone posting about Hotel California reminding him of Lucid Dreaming. I think this song: Dear Lucid, Our Time is Right Now by Evans Blue is another of those songs. The title is a given, but the song, the chorus especially, really strikes me as an LDesque experience. While its obvious this song doesn't directly relate to it. Any others out there?

      My word for dark rhymes
with your word for light and
      it's not quite as pretty
      as the pictures you painted
      but those were just afterthoughts
And all new thieves are after us
I think they're after our heads

Dear lucid, my time is right to...

Dance away, while the bullets fly
You know they come so close
I'll bet they put something in the air tonight
      just to light your face

Now bombs light the sky like
      Our fireworks just like
      The ones that ignited
the first time our eyes met
But this time it's over wars
      Your payback, you're wanting more
is gonna make this all over for us

Dear Lucid, your time is right to...

Dance away, while the bullets fly
You know they come so close
I'll bet they put something in the air tonight
      just to light your face

      For me

Dear Lucid, our time is right now

Dance away, while the bullets fly
You know they come so close
I'll bet they put something in the air tonight
      just to light your face

      Who will fix this impossibility
      When it's crushing your throat?
Will you fight for your agenda
or will you fight for air?

Dance away, while the bullets fly
You know they come so close
I'll bet they put something in the air tonight
      So we could dance away
      where the bullets fly
I know they look so close
I'll bet they put something in the air tonight
      just to light your face

      For me

      Dear Lucid

"Sit in the Mountain" by Devin Townsend really reminds me of lucid dreaming, but it probably wont for anyone else. It's just because it's my own lucid experiences that remind of it, but one part of (again Devin Townsend) "Hide Nowhere" reminds me of lucid dreaming.

every dream i have wants me to stay
every night i try to find a way

pretty much think of the dream as lucid and everyone understands how devin feels with these lyrics.

p.s. i think there's another thread somewhere on here about lds and music

      Queensryche-Silent Lucidity

So here it is, another chance
Wide awake you face the day
Your dream is over... or has it just begun?

It's a place where you will learn
To face your fears, retrace the years
And ride the whims of your mind
      Commanding in another world
      Suddenly you hear and see
      This magic new dimension

I- am smiling next to you, in Silent Lucidity
      [spoken during solo]
      (Visualize your dream)
(Record it in the present tense)
(Put it into a permanent form)
(If you persist in your efforts)
      (You can achieve dream control)
      (Dream control)
      (How's that then, better?)
If you open your mind for me
You won't rely on open eyes to see
      The walls you built within
Come tumbling down, and a new world will begin
Living twice at once you learn
You're safe from the pain in the dream domain
A soul set free to fly
A round trip journey in your head
Master of illusion, can you realize
Your dream's alive, you can be the guide but...
"Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people"

Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb". The song is actually about drugs, but the whole thing is very reminiscent of lucid dreaming, especially the last few lines.

      Hello.
      Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
      Is there anyone home?

      Come on, now.
      I hear youre feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain,
Get you on your feet again.

      Relax.
      I need some information first.
      Just the basic facts:
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
      When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I cant explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
      I have become comfortably numb.

      Ok.
      Just a little pinprick. [ping]
      Therell be no more --aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick.

      Can you stand up?
I do believe its working. good.
Thatll keep you going for the show.
Come on its time to go.

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
      I have become comfortably numb.

anwyay another one would be "Catching the Butterfly" by verve

I only copied a part of the song. It's way to long for a full post but I'll put the rest under a spoiler

"Im gonna keep catching that butterfly
Im gonna keep catching that butterfly
      In that dream of mine
      In that dream of mine
Im gonna keep catching that butterfly
      In that dream of mine

      In my lucid dreams
      In my lucid dreams
      In my lucid dreams

      Something now? ? ? ?
      In my lucid dreams
      Through life no fun
      I want to feel
      I want to run

      Something numb
      Through life no fun
Im gonna keep catching that butterfly
      I want to feel
      In that dream of mine
      I want to run
Im gonna keep catching that butterfly
      In that dream of mine."

Spoiler for full song of Catching the Butterfly:

Ghost Love Score by Nightwish reminds me of dreaming in a way, and features many things akin to a dream. Not exactly lucid though.

We used to swim the same moonlight waters
Oceans away from the wakeful day

My fall will be for you
My love will be in you,
If you be the one to cut me
      I will bleed forever

Scent of the sea before the waking of the world
brings me to thee, into the blue memory

A siren from the deep came to me
      Sang my name, my longing
Still I write my songs about that dream of mine
Worth everything i may ever be

The child will be born again
That siren carried him to me
First of them true loves, singing o nthe shoulders
Of an angel without care for love and loss

Maybe I can post it all later on, lacking time now

I can see what you mean. I always thought that Ghost love score was one of thier most beautiful songs.

I always liked in beauty of the beast "Safely away from the world
In a dream, timeless domain." that part kinda reminds me of lucid dreaming a bit.

'Imaginary' by Evanescence is definitley about dreaming and hints at lucidity strongly.

      I linger in the doorway
      Of alarm clocks screaming
      Monsters calling my name
      Let me stay
Where the wind will whisper to me
Where the raindrops as they're falling tell a story

In my field of paper flowers
      And candy clouds of lullaby
I lie inside myself for hours
And watch my purple sky fly over me

Don't say i'm out of touch
With this rampant choas, your reality
I know well what lies beyond my sleeping refuge
The nightmare I built my own world to escape

Swallow it up in the sound of my screaming
Cannot cease for the fear of silent nights
Oh how I long for the deep sleep dreaming
      The Godess of Imaginary Life
I figure I can describe it since I have a choice in the matter
These are 21 Things I choose to choose in a lover

I think Sailing by N*sync (originally by Christopher Cross) could be interpreted about lucid dreaming or just dreaming in general. The whole song has a dream-like quality to it. Here are the lyrics: I put the parts that I think are about dreaming in bold, with my comments in italic. These are not the complete lyrics.

Well it's not far down to paradise
      At least not for me
And if the wind is right you can sail away
      And find tranquility
Oh, the canvas can do miracles
      Just you wait and see
      The canvas= your mind
      Baby believe me

It's not far to Never-Never Land
      No reason to pretend
And if the wind is right you can find the joy
      Of innocence again
Oh, the canvas can do miracles
      Just you wait and see
      Baby believe me

      Sailing takes me away
To where I've always heard it could be
Just a dream and a wind to carry me Direct reference to dreaming
      Soon I will be free

      Fantasy
It gets the best of me
      When I'm sailing

All the world in a reverie "Reverie" is another word for dream.
      Every word is a symphony
      Won't you believe me?

Exclamation SP / HI / FA song!

Screamer by King's X is all about SP / HI / FA.
Anyone who suffers from this knows 100%... interested in hearing comments...

      screamer - king's x

at night they come while you dream
in between the wake and sleep
      then you feel paralyzed
and soon you end up screaming
      no no no

sometimes the voices are so clear
the fear just grips your soul
you see but there's nothing there
you know you're not alone, not alone
      oh no no

had a dream the other night, didn't go away
      over and over again
make the dreams go away, will they ever end
      over and over again

you wake, the feeling is relief
then it comes, vibrations so strange
and then oh no, you realize
you've woken up inside your dream
      no no no

had a dream the other night, didn't go away
      over and over again
make the dreams go away, will they ever end
      over and over again
