I decided to start trying to lucid dream again, so the first step is of course to develop my dream recall. I have been keeping a dream journal over the last few days to document my dreams. The first night I set my alarm clock for 1 hour and when I woke up I couldn't remember a thing about my dreams. The second night I tried setting my alarm clock for 30 minutes and still had no luck remembering any dreams. After reading a little bit on Dreamviews.com about dream recall, I decided to try setting my alarm clock for 4.5 hours after I went to sleep, and still couldn't remember a thing when I woke up. So over the course of the past 3 nights I have managed to recall just a few fragments in the morning from the first and second night, and this morning I couldn't even recall a thing.
Right now I am taking 6.25mg of Paxil for depression, but I am trying to get off because I don't think I need it anymore. I have always noticed ever since I started taking the medication that it made it harder to sleep. When I first started taking it I would wake up at 6:30 in the morning because I was so excited to start the day, and I could never sleep in. Once I became more used to the medication it became easier to sleep in but it was still a chore compared to before I started taking it.
So my obvious question is; do antidepressants such as Paxil affect your ability to recall dreams OR have lucid dreams?
Even if I don't lucid dream for a year, I know I will never get anywhere if I can't recall my dreams (plus writing a dream journal is fun in and of itself), so I would really like to work on this!! Any help would be appreciated
