      Lunar Phases

has anyone ever taken note of how their dreams (intensity and lucid frequency) are correlated with the various phases of the moon?
Im not into astrology or anything, but i couldn't help noticing one or two days either side of the last 3 full moons i have had periods of reallly intense dreaming, culminating in 3 LDs in 2 nites (unheard of for me) on the nite before and the nite of the last full moon.

im not sure where this fits into the science or my philosophy on lucid dreaming, i just thought it would be interesting.
Take note next time you see a full moon.

I've thought about the moon before and if it could effect Lucid Dreaming...scientifcally, it shouldn't, because Lucid Dreaming is basically you being aware you are dreaming and shouldn't have anything to do with where the moon is.

It would be intresting to see some stats on this. We could run a little experiment for two lunar months or whatever and see if the amount of LD's rises or changes with the phase of the moon.

Someone asked this before and they said they noticed the same thing. At the time I thought about it and it seemed like it was the other way around for me. I had more lucid dreams during the new moon and none during the full moon. It was like 2 lucids night dreams 3 nights in a row. Well since then I checked and I guess it was just a coincidence because it hasn't seemed to have any effect on me since then.

I agree with Kaniaz on this one, I don't think the moon affects dreaming but it would be nice to see the results if a test was ever preformed...

who knows, maybe the moon just effects certain people. hospitals receive more patients and murders, suicides, arson, things of that nature are always increased on full moon nights. it messes wit peoples brainwaves so i dont see why it wouldnt mess wit some peoples dreams.

i agree with you smoovD. And not only humans are affected by the moon, also animals act different depending on the moon.

If somebody stuck an extra moon up there it would be intresting to see if the animals went all weird. But we don't have an extra moon anywhere.

I am sure it has an effect, not because it is there, but because it affects the amount of abmient light present at night.

Also as was mentioned, animals are more active, which makes the dogs bark, the noise of which affects how soundly you sleep.

I know I hate clear nights when the moon is full. Seems like I have to get up at two or three times during the night to yell at the dogs.
