      Text in dreams

I'm not so sure where to put this...i figured this was the most generic place

I've been having dreams (all similar, but not so alike as to be recurring) involving me reading some kind of text. The most vivid one, I'm in a classroom and there's this question on the board that I'm answering. It's a question about arrays, it's a maths lesson but the question relates to something I'm doing at work at the moment.

Basically, everytime I look up to read the question, it's the same, the text doesn't change (and it's in english too). The same for the answer I'm writing at my desk, the text stays the same each time I look at it.

I'm not lucid (at least not lucid enough for it to make a difference).

I was under the impression that the logical part of your brain is capping Z's so text changes? Does this mean anything?

Looking forward to hearing what people have to say

Wow, this is interesting. Maybe because you have grown accustomed to reading dream text?

I had a full name appear once... floating over some hills.

The dream was... very sexual... for an unknown reason.

I thought it might have something to do with text.

      Apparently, i stand alone.
You merely have to change your point of view slightly, and then that glass will sparkle when it reflects the light.

I'm always reading text in dreams. It always makes sense as well. Sometimes I can even write it down when I wake up. Did you say you actually did a reality check and the text stayed the same? I've never done that.

I'm also looking forward to what people say

Well I'm not so sure, reading and text isn't something I generally dream about... I've checked my DJ and there hasn't been a dream with text or reading in it for a couple months (since I started the new DJ).

Nope, no RC...but I was looking up and down between the board and my book regularly, and checking my watch (all the things I'd do in an exam). And each time I checked, the text was the same (as if I was awake and writing in my book). I don't recall what my watch was doing though...

      I wonder?

Interesting thread. When I lucid dream, text will usually change at random, but not always. I once dreamt that I read quite a long fanfiction (it was printed out into a small book) and I even remembered the story when I woke up. I'm afraid I've forgotten the story, I had this dream a few years ago. But it was lucid, the text was long and coherent, and it made sense, and the text didn't change.

I had something similar happen once. I was pretty upset when I woke up and realized it was really a dream.

I did a reality check once that failed as well. I tried to put my two fingers through the palm of my other hand (as I usually do for my RT in dreams) and it didn't go through and it felt real. It sucked because I have not had many Lucid dreams and when I thought I was finally having a Lucid Dream, my reality check failed.

I don't think it really matters if you dream of text consistantly. In fact, I was just talking to Lucid Bulbs about it the other day, and she said she'd dreamed about text before and only one time she hadn't seen it clearly. After that, she had no trouble reading at all.
