      Increasing Lucidity

I find that in most of my lucid dreams, I do know that I am dreaming obviously but for example if I fly it isn't as thrilling as I always thought it should be. Most of the time, I forget the task I pre-assigned the night before and just mess up the dream. I think this may be down to "not being lucid enough" and if this is so can I increase my lucidity? Do you expect that just commanding, "Increase lucidity/clarity now" would really work?

You may try to increase your vividness by confidently stating aloud "increase lucidity" or "clarity now".. this does work for me.

I also try to "ground" myself in the dream (i.e., make it as lucid as it can be) instead of immediately racing to do something before I lose lucidity.

One of the tricks I use to "ground" myself is to "touch" things. By touching.. I mean really "feeling" them. Get into how they feel.. are they hot, cold, smooth, rough, etc. (this also increases the vividness of the dream along with helping me remain in it longer).

Also, there is no "try" when you're lucid.. only "do". You must KNOW that there is nothing you can't have nor perform while in your dream.

Just remember that "the deeper the level of lucidity.. the better your lucid experience should be".

Yep sounds like you don't have Lucid clarity... When I shout clarity now (and actually mean it 100%) it usually works. Try that... And if that doesn't work you could try using your sense of feel... It's very true that feeling and smelling will increase the vividness A LOT. Anyway that's my take on it.

      Peace, Jamal

True: I spent my whole time smelling things and eating in one LD when I found nothing else I tried worked. At the beginning of this LD I asked myself whether I was dreaming and I BELEIVED it was a saturday afternoon and we would be having visitors over. I found I could float so I ignored this though. Now the day before I had already lived that evening, but I could remember none of it. The fact is I tried to remember, do you reckon that could make me more lucid?

Or it could have been alcohol, I was allowed to have 2 beers straight before bed. I wasn't drunk obviously but who knows what that could do to your dreams!
