      New experience last night!

I was listening to a lucid mp3 last night to try and get myself lucid (I'venever been lucid before) and i think i may have had some sleep paralysis. I was lying in bed listening to the track for maybe 20 min. and was getting pretty sleepy when both my arms started to feel very heavy and eventually went "numb" I could not feel them anymore. It should also be noted that this did not happen to my legs. Anyways, I was sleeping on my stomach with the left half of my face touching the pillow. Suddenly, I felt my eye's starting to move back and forth extremely fast and I started to see things on my eyelids. It is hard to explain what I saw but I will do my best to explain it. It looked like someone was drawing on the back of my eyelids with a pen that had whiteish green flashing ink. Very weird I know. I started to get a bit excited and thoguht that I was about to enter a dream and finally become lucid. I guess my excitement got the better of me and I became more awake and lost the sensation. I tried moving my arms and found I could move them but it was hard. After about a minute I was back to normal.

Was I about to enter a dream? If I kept going would this have been a WILD? When my eyes moved quickly was this a REM period? Thanks in advance,

nah, that wasn't the REM cycle starting, you don't enter the REM cycle until you've been a sleep for a while.

I've had these weird sensations when trying to WILD when I first go to sleep too. I've had weird, yet very real sensations on my face. felt exactly like someone was massaging my face.

and yeah, Ive lost sensation in my arms and legs too. I dont think its sleep paralysis though. Ive never had SP, but from what I hear, you can't move, even if you try.

when trying to WILD though, don't try it when you first go to bed. your minds too alert and active. WILDs work best with a WBTB. (Wake Back To Bed).
So, go to sleep, but set your alarm to go off earlier, so you'll wake up after 5 or 6 hours of sleep. go take a piss or something, and then go back to bed. then just relax and let your self fall back to sleep, but stay aware of what's happening. thats the only way Ive been able to WILD. which imo, is the coolest method for becoming lucid.

The stuff on the back of your eyelids is normal. I see a ton of weird "neon" design things like that. just because it's normal, doesnt mean it aint cool though.

good luck. youre on the right track. I doubt it'll be long before you get your lucid legs.
