soemtimes, very rarely, when I'm laying on my back not really asleep just laying there with my eyes open it feels like the bed is falling out from under me...It happens very quickly...I usually jerk up because It's very sudden and I was wondering if this is something that has happened to someone else? Also what it could be..o.o |

In this crazy world if they don't consider you mad, then you have no confirmation of your own sanity, do you?
Imagine if this crazy world thought you were sane?! Oh my God, worst nightmare!

I often have a similar feeling, where I begin to feel like I'm spinning and falling into the bed. |

happened to me a couple times in high school when i fell asleep in class, id just about be in a dream but then jerk up cuz it felt like i was fallin and everyone would kinda look at me funny. i actually was dreaming once, i dreamt i was playin ball and i went up and did a jordan style dunk, and as i came down i fell hard and i jerked my head off my desk real fast and looked around wide eyed. i heard what causes it is that your neurons just misfire and it kinda jolts you. |

Woah..And this has happened before I joined DVs..oo;....It is very rare for me...maybe once every 2-3 months.. |

The falling sensation could also be the lack of proprioception that incidentally occurs during the transition to and from slow wave sleep. |

Normally for me when that happens I'm going to bed and my mind wanders and it seems like I'm going to touch something hot or someone is going to grab my leg or some other thing that I'm "afraid of happening." |
