Don't just reality check every half hour though, the point is too do it when something out of the ordinary happens.
I pretty much did what you are and I had my first lucid after three days! goodluck

I've always kept a dream journal, but recently started reality checking as often as possible (at least thirty times a day - likely more). Like soadfreak, I had my first LD after about three days. So, big emphasis on the reality checks!
