      An Annoying Problem

      So here's the problem: sometimes, when I'm attempting to have an LD (usually by the WILD, MILD, and/or WBTB methods), I get excited, and can't get to sleep. Then, I try to make myself sleep, which obviously doesn't work well. When this happens, it usually results in an entirely sleepless night, which is incredibly irritating and has a way of making the next day entirely miserable. My question is: Has anybody got any good methods for distracting yourself so you can fall asleep? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

      I have this bedside clock that clicks (its not digital) as the small second hand goes round (tick, tick tick tick) I listen too it ... it keeps me aware but doesnt distract me from sleeping ... therefore getting my brain in the right place for a LD .. (or WILD i htink this is- im new)

      This one worked for me, (although i usually experience DILD):

      Close your eyes, picture your hands in front of your face, move your imaginary hands till they look real. When they do, clap them till they feel real. When they do, probably you'll be dreaming. Some scenario will appear, and if you didn't lose track of your lucidity, it will still be there. It's cool! ^_^

      Fortunately for you, it's not exciting at all.

      I really hope it works for you.

      It seldom works for me since it takes too long for me to fall asleep. And anything i think about trying prevents my sleeping.

      With some practice, you can actually control 4 hands. They all can move, and they all can feel and touch each other. Feels a little bit like Gregor Samsa.
      Habilities: fly, pass through things, taste, touch, pain, dare, hear music, breath under water, heal, wake up...

      Wish to: Summon people, teleport/switch environment, read a long text, fly higher than about 1 kilometer, fly quicker than about 200 km/h, 360 vision, freeze time, time travel, transform into beasts, go to the moon, go into deep space, fire portals...

      Thanks for the advice. This sounds like just the kind of thing that would work for me, since I often find that if I think about something (anything) besides sleeping, I'm usually out like a light before long.

      And as for the second part: four hands. That is about the coolest idea I've heard this month. I'll have to give that a try!
