      Creating music

Alrght, now I don't know how many of you hear voices before falling asleep, but I do. Usually it scares me out of falling asleep. Anyway, last night somehow I changed it from voices to songs.

I then somehow changed it to guitar music...none that I had ever heard before. It was interesting. After that somehow I changed it to piano music, again I had never heard it before.

Maybe it was just my impaired state but the music was like DAMN thats good music. Course we all know how impaired logic works...something can be real funny in a dream that when you wake up you realize that it isn't that funny.

i have experienced this several times. i'm of the opinion that my dream music would continue to kick ass if i could somehow listen to it while awake. Making dream music is especially rewarding for me because i have no musical talents in real life...

Once, in a short (unposted) lucid, a random DC was playing piano in my house. He asked me to play a piece called 'Boredom.' And holy shit. It sounded random. I have no talent in piano, and can only play one key at a time. Consequently, I could play just as well in the dream. The dream character seemed satisfied, though. Also (just went through my written journal), I asked him in return to come to me in another dream and tell me I'm dreaming. Lazy bastard never showed up again. >=(

This happens to me about 50 percent of the time when going to sleep.
It usually jars me awake, like it does you. It's usually a voice, but every now and then it'll be music. I've heard some really cool violin music while falling a sleep.

I know what you mean about it being damn good music too.
I had a dream the other night, where me and my ex-girl were in my studio, and she was playing a synth, and came up with what i though at the time was a fucking brilliant riff.
that happened when I was a sleep, not while falling a sleep. but you get the relevance to topic. heh

      easy..

Yeah i've experienced this to. Some really, really wicked thrash metal guitar and bass riffs. Like Iced Earth on crack. Yeah, I really need a bass lol...

Oddly enough I hear the music more than voices (both of which are rare for me).

Keith Richard got the riff to "Brown Sugar" in a dream.. and I remember reading that Paul McCartney did it as well.. I think it was "Yesterday".

I've not heard music before falling asleep, but I've played music on instruments of which I have no experience playing with in my dreams.

One in particular I remember was quite odd. I was in the middle of a swampish area of what I guess was like the Bayou, and I found a cello under the water. I don't know why it was there, but I thought I might as well take it out of the water and start playing.

I played it perfectly as if I had been playing for years. It was pretty cool to play the prelude to Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 with no errors effortlessly. Much cooler than guitar hero ;P

One major goal I have is, once I become very prominent in lucid dreaming, to write lots of poetry and music in my dreams.

Both consciously as in, sitting down with a guitar in my dream and strumming and seeing what I come up with, and unconsciously, as in saying, "There will be a poem on the table over there." Then going over there and reading the poetry the my sub-conscious comes up with!

Oneiro, that's pretty crazy! I once farted a couple times and it sounded just like the Brown Sugar riff, and the song came into my head from that fart, then the song came on in my iTunes playlist next!

      It was exciting!

Stephent91.. if you have enough control, you can meet DCs who can teach you guitar in LDing.. this is definitely true from my own experience, so I would imagine that it's also possible with other instruments too.

As for your farting "Brown Sugar", have you ever heard of an old french cabaret artist called "Le Pétomane"? He could fart whole arias. He is surely on Google.

I get music pre lucid dream occasionally.

The one time I clearly heard a Mozart Piano Piece while i was teetering on dreams. I lazily realized that a country music station wouldn't play Mozart and I clued in that I must be dreaming. I got lucid but the music stopped at that very moment.

Hypnogogic music induced lucid dreams for us?

And yeah, the music I hear then is out of this world gorgeous. I always wish I knew how to write music so I could try recreate what I'd heard in my dreams.
