I've just started trying to LD. I've had a few brief FAs and LDs so far, and I'm hoping to work my way up to flying.

However, I used to occasionally LD in childhood, and I can vivdly remember one attempt to fly. I started by running, then leapt up, travelled for maybe 30-50 feet before coming back down, then could bounce back up and keep going that way. While it was a great feeling, I was disappointed that I never managed full flight.
Anyone else had something like this, and does it usually lead to real flight? Or should I try a different method than the running take-off?
