      dream recall question...

i was not sure if its normal, but this morning, i woke up, and remembered no dreams, i thought i had no dream, then i got up, and went upstairs and then came back down and checked my computer, and i started remembering my dream, but it was like 25 minutes after i woke up? does it usually take that long to remember?

      Heya moifay!!

Well I guess it all depends on how good your overall dream recall is. I remember about 5 dreams a night.. I'll usually remember the longest/most vivid ones the second I wake up, and then the rest will come within a few minutes. But sometimes, I'll go through half the day without remembering anything more, and suddenly something will accidentally spark my memory.

How long have ya been keeping a dream journal, or are you? These things get easier the more you write them down.

5-6 days, that's just like yesterday! You're doing fine, give it a few more days and you'll see more results. Someone had a suggestion of lying there in bed for a few minutes after you wake up and not move a muscle.. moving sometimes kind of works like an eraser and erases your memory.

Wait, not even.. it's 3 days!

Yep. in fact try not moving a muscle. lay in the same position and try 'feel' the dream mood ... then reconstruct it... all before moving.
      Helps me anyway...

Remembering dreams later during the day happens to me occasionally. I'll be doing something and suddenly the dream I had that night will run through my mind like a movie. I'll remember every detail, every scene, every action, and I'll be surprised that I forgot about it.

What I like is when I run into someone and think of the last time I saw them, then do a double-take like, "Oh, that was a dream." The dream memory is totally a part of waking life until I focus on it, like achieving lucidity way after the fact. It always trips me out and makes me laugh.
If you have a sense of caring for others, you will manifest a kind of inner strength in spite of your own difficulties and problems. With this strength, your own problems will seem less significant and bothersome to you. By going beyond your own problems and taking care of others, you gain inner strength, self-confidence, courage, and a greater sense of calm.Dalai Lama

Just out of curiosity, how did you awake? Did you use the mild method? Or an alarm clock?

IF you can't remember a thing about your dream in the morning, and you lie there patiently, even if it takes 10 minutes, I garuntee* you will remember something.
