      Strange lucid experience

      I had a strange 2nd lucid dream experience;
      I was dreaming that I was walking in NYC and there was a linkin park concert on top of this boat or something, so as i climbed up it, I remember thinking "wait, this is a strange event, shouldn't i do a reality check or something? Oh wait i dont have to, i already know I'm dreaming"
      I then suddenly realized that I just said I was dreaming and I think i became lucid.
      I have a question about all of this although, because both times I became lucid, I could also suddenly feel myself lying in my bed. Is that normal?
      Also, after I realized i was dreaming, I stared at my hands for some reason and i was telling myselef "Damnit, the dream is fading... What can I do???"
      Is there any way to stop my dream from just suddenly fading out?

      It can be really hard...especially once you start getting that "tunnel vision" and the dream starts to fade out. My suggestion is to quickly pick something up or focus intently on something within the dream until you feel comfortable knowing you won't wake up. Sometimes it's just impossible to stop though.

      Actually, if i remember correctly, I think I was still sleeping, but the dream just ended. After that, I had a dream that I was telling what I think was a therapist (no, I do not actually see one in real life) about the dream... argh...

      Something that always works for me is to watch my hands.

      second body

      Yeah - feeling two bodies is OK. You may have the ability to have OBEs if you can harness that sensation and choose between the two.

      And to keep your concentration going, try a somatic sensation. This works for lots of people. My favourite is rubbing my hands together briskly.

      It is hard to stop from waking up. The main thing is to stay relaxed which is difficult when you are lucid and worried that you are going to wake up. Try repeating something like "I will stay asleep" or spinning in circles in your dream.

      I'm always surprised at how well spinning works for getting you back into a dream or changing scenery.

      spinning and focusing on objects works well but I also find that I have to know what I am going to do next to keep the dream going

      Everything makes sense once you stop thinking about it

      Lots of times when my LDs start to end I can begin to feel my real body again lying in bed breathing. Then the dream starts to get dark and fades to black. Looking hard at your hands sometimes helps to stabilize the dream. Spinning has never worked for me. Honestly the best thing to do is to let the dream end and keep lying still in bed without moving or opening your eyes. Then just start to visualize something - anything. Pretty soon it will become clearer and more real and then the dream world will materialize around you again and you'll be able to enter it. Recently I was coming out of a dream and I started picturing a room to re-enter. I was looking down at a footstool and suddenly it became really clear. I picked it up and snapped the legs off, and I was back in the dream world. Visualizing your hands works great too because it's usually pretty easy to picture what your hands look like, then picture them moving, and prety soon you're back in business.
