experienced LDers: do you still dream journal?

Dream journaling taught me how to remember my dreams and recognize my dream signs which lead to the awesomest lucid dreams. but for the past 2 months or so I haven't been recording dreams. Sometimes I feel like it's almost more fun to just enjoy them while they last and then let go of them instead of recording every detail and thinking about them constantly. If you have at least one LD a week if not many more, the question for you is do you still write them all down? do you write only your favorites down? do you write nothing down?

I always write dreams down. When I don't, the recall slowly diminishes... I have many more lucid dreams during times when I fervently write my dreams down than when I write them apathetically (or not at all).

I still keep up with my DJ. Every once in a while I go back through it, and am always amazed at how much has been forgotten - including wonderful lucids.

I don't want to lose those experiences. My journal is precious to me.

I always write down my dreams. Though, there is the days/weeks I don't because I'm busy or I have a low dream recall that week. I do try to write in my dream journal on everything that happens and not just on my favourite dreams or lucid dreams. So the answer would be yes I do. hehe i just started my forth Dream journal. My old one was huge and it took about 2 years to fill, it basically was falling apart near the end. So for 2008 I have a brand new one

Yeah, I still do. I like writing stories about my dreams, that's why my dream journal sometimes sounds like a drama novel.

Always always always. Been doing it for four years and filled up 12 composition notebooks. I get as descriptive as I possible can and it is not abnormal for one of my dreams to fill up a few pages.

To be honest though I only do this on my last dream of the night, before waking up. I used to try to do it on the other lucid dreams I had before waking up but I'd find that it would make me too awake. So what I do now is I have one note book that I used for jotting quick notes then I elaborate in the official one when I awake. My dreams are narrative and written in the first person with possibly the weakest prose ever. They are seriously just statements of what I did or someone else did with virtually no transitions... I should also state that I have some code words for if I do something that would have me losing friends in real life. I do not want to disrupt the status quo, my waking life is about maintaining it. I let my friends read my journal when ever they want and I don't want them to read something that would disrupt our friendship.

If I have sex with one of my female friends I leave it in there unless the sexual act is considered abnormal. An example would be like this.

'Julie and I had sex, she engaged in coprophagia' would become 'Julie and I had sex, afterwards we we had a hot lunch' IF she really had a hot lunch I'd say what she had, lol.

Also, I'm not ashamed to admit it but my male friends are the cast of the Golden Girls... my best friends at least... if I actually engage in sex with one of the golden girls I'll put an asterisks next to the name, go to the computer, look up the name of the actress and erase it and put in the actress's name.

      For example

'Marc and I had sex' would be come 'Had sex with Sophia from the Golden Girls'... if I really did the nasty with Sophia i'd Google her name and put her name in there... since it's never happened I don't know her name. When ever I do the nasty with a guy I always do the asterisk then find a TV female TV show character. I store the codes in a hidden text file on my computer. I archive the text file with WinRAR, password it, then change the extension to *.dll... and that text file is shown to no one. My main reason for this is for comedy for my friends and to keep them as my friends.

I start with my most recent dream and work back. If describing my third dream takes 15 minutes the other dreams start to fade in my memory so I start with the one freshest in my mind, which would be the second... by the time I get to the last one it isn't as descriptive. I normally have two lucid dreams because I WILD every night. MY alarm clock goes off at 4:30 and I WILD until 7:00. Before I used the clock I used to have multiple dreams but I'd forget the initial ones really fast.

Yes, or else my recall is horrible.

And plus it's great to keep a record of your dreams.
