      Interrupting noises

      Whats up people.

I don't experience lucid dreams very often, and I think last night I realized for the first time that I was actually "lucid dreaming" during the dream and was free to do anything. This was actually after a friend of mine told me we were in a dream.

So first thing I do is exit the apartment I was in and run to the street, look around a bit and start flying. However, right after my feet got off the ground I start hearing this kinda annoying noise and soon after I wake up humming very loudly.

Just wondering if anything similiar has happened to anyone here. I was pretty disappointed that the sound interrupted my flying.

Sounds like you were about to have an OBE.

Heh, must have been funny to watch you waking up.

      "mmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMM"

Strange though, I've never experienced any strange noise. (Although, thinking about it, I don't remember ANY particular sounds in my few lucid dreams. I better work on that).

There's your problem. Running increases your dream heart's rate. Your dream heart rate is the same as your real heart rate. That puts more oxygen in your system which makes you more awake until you eventually loose your dream. I made that mistake in several of my early lucid dreams. Walk everywhere, it may take you longer to get some place, but you have longer to do it.

That noise that you produced was probably just your brain panicking because it's unfamiliar with lucid dreaming right now.

I looked up for some information on OBEs and noticed some similiarities with the dream i had (the sound & waking up to it).
In the dream the sound I heard was a mixture of humming and my ears ringing, but like I said it didn't start until I was in the air.. So yeah, it could be that I'm still too unfamiliar with the whole thing.

Anyways, thanks for the replys. I'll try to avoid running next time.
