How can I stay in my lucid dream for longer?

Whenever I begin to realize I am dreaming I always feel myself slightly losing dream energy, and I kinda panic a little. I tried rubbing my hands and feeling stuff but it don't work. This annoying cos I have stuff that needs doing in my dream. Dream spinning btw don't work for me.

I've heard that drinking or eating something might help.... i guess anything that triggers your dream scenses... smell a rose? pause and focus on an object... reach out and touch something \ somone etc...

I am sure others will some good ideas too.... that's all that comes to mind for me right now...

Remain calm. If you get excited, you will probably lose the dream. I find that acting purely on impulse helps. Try not to think, just to do.

Verbal commands seem to work well for me, give that a try. I was having trouble waking up and I always tried rubbing my hands, it would usually result in waking up... but verbal commands work alot better for me for some reason.

This could help you out as well:
      http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=51326

Verbal commands have a big impact on the content of the dream. You want to change something like make someone disappear or appear, or simply change place, and other things? Just say it out loud and it will do as you say.

Recently I've found out that maybe the best option is to make yourself a talisman. If you have it on you it will make you more confident about yourself. It will help you even if you get a little more excited and there is a less need to look at your hands.

He said dream spinning doesn't work. I'm wondering if you even read his post thoroughly.

Anyways, as said before, verbally saying your intent outloud (and believing it) will work wonders. Also, focuses on something, or attempting to increase your senses also works.
You do this every fucking time.

I had one lucid dream where I couldn't stop floating. I tried to say "Okay, GRAVITY!" but it only helped a little. What's funny is there were about a hundred cookies sitting in trays on the kitchen counter, and I didn't even think of trying to eat one.

I have the same problem though. All my LD's tend to be too short. My last one was pretty long though, longer than usual. So maybe with experience, I'm turning a corner. Maybe you will too.
In dreams of unspeakable joy—of restored friendships; of revived embraces; of love which said it had never died; of faces that had vanished long ago, yet said with smiling lips that they knew nothing of the grave; of pardons implored, and granted with such bursting floods of love, that I was almost glad I had sinned—thus I passed through this wondrous twilight. —George MacDonald

I do three things constantly once I am lucid:
      1. Rubbing my hands together really helps
      2. I keep doing the nose-pinch reality check to prevent me from losing lucidity
      3. I shout out "INCREASE LUCIDITY"

The last lucid dream I had I didn't do any of these things and the dream quickly faded. But any other time when I remember to do these things the dream lasts a few minutes, which is really good.

      Do a reality check.

I created a remote-control in a lucid dream last night (just a few hours ago) which had a "increase clarity" button, it actually made things look sharp and brought my sight to focus.

Interesting and inspirative. I made for myself a talisman that had ability to keeping me in the dream for a longer time and it did the job.

That just gave me the greatest idea!!! I have this ring that I've worn for the past six years. I've noticed it a couple times in dreams, but haven't thought of checking for it while lucid. *makes mental note* If anything will have the power to keep me lucid it sure will!

If you get the chance, summon up a portal and say "Ok, when i walk through this portal i will have a ..... minute/hour long LD. Or something to that effect
Don't give me credit for that, i got it from another post....
