      Circumventing pain

Some people say its impossible to feel real pain in dreams. I say thats complete bullshit because I feel real pain even in lucid dreams. I was wondering how you stop feeling pain in dreams. Is it just something you have to practice?

Heres an example. I had a dream a few nights ago and I became lucid. I was in some housing estate so I decided to jump head first through the window of a house. I ended up in someones living room and there were 2 guys sitting on the couch watching TV. One of them got up and started threatening me with a knife. I pondered the thought of getting stabbed and I realized I had a fear of getting stabbed even in a lucid dream. I decided to overcome that fear. I opened my arms and said "come on stab me" and the guy went to stab me and I got a bit nervous and grabbed the blade and he sliced my fingers and I felt real pain like I'd actually been cut. Then I let him go all the way and stab me in the belly and I swear to god I felt some real horrible pain that I associate with being stabbed in the belly. Even after I woke up my fingers were still tingling from being sliced in my dream.

Real pain happens all the time. Feeling things is the input method which is least turned off and you can feel almost everything within a dream.

Man, that sucks. I'm one of the people who never feel physical pain in dreams--except maybe for one time, I think--but I've still had plenty of emotional painful dreams.

Also, every once in a while I get woken up by a really bad leg crap that has me yelling at the top of my lungs.

God... I hate night time leg cramps. I'm usually not awake enough to realize I'm supposed to stand on it until I'm curled up in fetal position.

I can feel pain in dreams, but it's a diluted pain. I was shot in the neck once and it felt kinda like a 'scraped knee' pain.

Fortunately, I haven't had the experience of being stabbed, but I was dodging a sword once, and the feeling of it passing near my stomach made my stomach lurch.

heheh my friend stabbed me with a sewing needle as a joke. damn it hurt! but only for a few seconds, and it kinda went numb. I feel sorry for you! At least now you know your pain threshold in your dreams, don't do it again!

You already have the answer here.

To overcome your fear, you have to accept it. You accepted to be stabbed.

To overcome your pain, accept it.

I woudln't of let him get near me though, that would of been it for him

Or just don't let anything hurt you in dreams. A bit like in real life really.
