      Inconsistency

How come I have a great lucid dreaming streak, like 3 in 4 nights, or 2 in a row, and then I go for 7 or 8 days without one? For example, this month, I started off with three in five nights, and as of today, I haven't had an LD in the past week. I am using the same techniques (reality checking) and yetI am inconsistent. Any tips on how to stabilize my lucid dreaming times?

I wish to think that lucid dreaming follows a different mode of learning. Instead of consistently increasing in lucid frequency, quality, and length, we instead follow a more random pattern of learning, but one with overall improvement. At times we have dry spells, other times we seem to increase steadily, and then we fall back, and grow slightly, and so on. There's a name for this, but it escapes me.

Keep doing what you are doing. Your mind will catch on soon.

It's common for even good lucid dreamers. It has to do with your sleep pattern I bet. I'm in a dry spell right now. Try to WILD. If you fail a WILD, because you were thinking about it the whole time you will probably have a WBTB.

I agree with ninja9578. If the ammount or quality of sleep I get changes from night to night I will get varrying numbers of lucids each night. However, if I consistently get a good night's sleep I end up with about the same number of lucids each night.

Another thing that effects my lucidity is stress. If I am under an unusual ammount of stress my lucid dreams all dry up.

Just came out of a 10 day spell myself. It's the first one i've tracked with my DJ (as I just started it in Jan). At the end of the year I am going to retrace the dates, and check with an astrology friend to see if there is any patterns, and if there is anything to be done about it.

Like other said, I suggest not worrying about it to much.
"“Evil? Good? These are merely words. In the eyes of the universe neither of those exist. There are only three elements, that act as a base for all that you see around. There is Light. There is Dark. And there is the balance between those two. Good and Evil are concepts, used to deny oneself from serving the balance. By serving, you participate in the great creation."
