Problem when "going out of bounds"

Ok. This is my second thread. I probably shouldn't expect anything I ask here to be too wierd, so here it is.

I seemed to have honed my ability to walk through, or run through walls. At first, it was simply an experiment to see if I could do it. Sometimes I got stuck halfway through the wall, it hurt a bit, and then I woke up. It's amazing that I could actually feel every fiber of my being pushing through the wall!

Soon enough, I'm walking through them, with only a modest amount of resistance. Nowdays, I run through them unrestricted. No physical barriers constrain me when I'm lucid. If you believe you can run through walls, you will. You are no longer confined.

The problem I seem to be running into, is that at times, there is nothing on the other side. I end up in a black abyss, and wait for the next scene to form, if any. Sometimes I have to focus on creating something, but it doesn't always work like I want it to. It's strange though, since most times there is something on the other side. Why is it sometimes there is not? When this first started happening, I fully expected there to be something there, so it's not like my mind made it happen. It just didn't exist; as if I went out of bounds. One particular instance, when I went "out of bounds" moving through walls, the scene was still being created as I went through the wall.

Any advice on how to avoid, the void (not to be confused with the "Noid")?

I experienced that void last time I phased through a mirror. On the other side was complete blackness.

Maybe peek through the wall and see what's on the other side before moving all the way through it. Or you could try shoving your head through all the walls in the room to see if there is a different scene behind each one.

'know' where you are going before you go through?

or go through backwards, so you could always go back through the wall should it fail?

      just some ideas...

Problem is, you never really know how thick the wall is going to be.

UPDATE: If I am going into a building, I know there will be a room on the other side. But when I go out of a building, there is a greater chance that I will run into the void.

Wow, this void seems like an intresesting place, next time you run into the void, picture a flash light in your hand then picture a chair floating down and sit in it, then wait a moment, THEN BOOM! watch the big bang happen right in front of you!!!

EDIT: just an idea in case you run into the "Void" again, enjoy the void, i would have to say it must be rarest place in LD world.

EDITEDIT: lol thanks... now i'm interested in this Void, now i'll run into it!

I've experienced a weird 'out of bounds' type thing a few times, but it was a couple years ago. I had dreams where I was by the train track, waiting to hijack the passing train... The train was almost always empty with no conductor or passengers. I rode the train for a while until I hit a weird train station/junction. The trip didn't take too long, but when I'd go a little past the junction, I'd end up in a desert with nothing but dunes, some cacti, and the huge train I was on was merely a tiny 'toy' train. I don't remember quite what I did to get back into town and out of the desert. It reminded me of the movie 'Beetle Juice' when the couple walked out of the house and landed in this weird desert. But my dream desert wasn't at all odd... Just a synapse of nothing.

As far as walking through walls, that is a VERY useful technique especially when hiding from someone or something. I had one really freaky occurrence when I was hiding inside the walls from this person/thing that was raiding the house looking for clues of my where abouts. I thought I was safe in the walls and undetectable. The person was wearing a mask (couldn't see the face) and was looking through drawers right by the wall that I was stuck in and all of a sudden when I least expected it, it reached it's hand into the wall and pulled me out. I was scared $hitless and woke up.

I got that too the 1st time I tried a mirror teleport.
I managed to back out of the void and back into the room.
I stick to door teleports now. You can always see if its worked before you step through.

I think "out of bounds" is a good description of it. Your brain must be putting a lot of work into creating these realities. If you surprise it, it defaults.

James is right. I think its important to visualise where you want to end up.
This gives you mind a chance to anticipate and create.
