      SP Vibrations

Has anyone else experimented with the vibrations you feel when going through the typical SP / WILD scenario?

Lately I have been experimenting with that vibrating feeling. I find that I can amplify or dampen the feeling by flexing with my mind. I feel I have pretty good control over it. Does anyone know of any good information about what this vibrating feeling actually is?

Last night I was in SP and was trying to push the vibrations to the highest level possible. I have never felt anything so intense. It felt like my head was going to explode. I don't want to give myself a stroke or something.

I know that people who subscribe to the Astral Projection theory of things do a lot of work with these vibrations. Besides that, are there any good theories about whats going on here?

I don't have anything constructive to add but I had to say that's some interesting stuff. I don't think I've read of others playing with the vibrations like you just described.

I know what you mean, I have found that some pretty cool effects can be achieved that way.

It is all in your head anyway.

Can you describe how you increase the vibrations more? I've been able to increase them somewhat by doing Robert Bruce's energy raising. It sounds like you just kind of will it into happening?

I've done that before. You can do allot just by expecting it to happen. I could move the vibrations up and down my body just by thinking about it.
      You loose yourself, you reappear
You suddenly find you got nothing to fear
Alone you stand with nobody near
When a trembling distant voice, unclear
Startles your sleeping ears to hear
That somebody thinks they really found you.

Yeah, in my journal I've written about playing with the vibrations. When I first started, I could only get the vibrations in my neck, sometimes they would spontaneously spread a little down my body. Now since I've started trying energy raising, I can intensify them by doing stirring actions in my feet, or imagining the energy moving up and down my body.

I really don't believe in astral projection, I think most of it is hogwash, but the energy raising part is for real. I've really noticed a difference since I started.
In dreams of unspeakable joy—of restored friendships; of revived embraces; of love which said it had never died; of faces that had vanished long ago, yet said with smiling lips that they knew nothing of the grave; of pardons implored, and granted with such bursting floods of love, that I was almost glad I had sinned—thus I passed through this wondrous twilight. —George MacDonald

Yes; I really don't mind that R.B. takes that perspective because he's so down to earth otherwise!

Has everyone here found that can WILD pretty soon after they increase the vibrations? What's your method of transitioning into the dream?

I haven't really been doing anything special to change the vibrations. I find that I can just will them to move to different parts of my body or increase. Is it all just hallucination? Has there ever been any physiological studies about what that feeling is? Something with your nervous system? I remember reading that the side effects of some medication were similar to this feeling.

I havent noticed it being any easier to AP after increasing the vibrations, but I don't try much. Maybe I should go break out all my old Monroe Institute info.

People who AP spend a lot of time with the vibrations, but most WILD tutorials sort of skip over them. I've always been of the belief that AP and LD were the same thing, but I know not everyone believes this. Do most people who LD just wait through this phase, or learn tricks to skip over it?

I know that when I WILD on my side, I do not get vibrations very often. When I WILD on my back, I get them the majority of the time. Also, when I get SP upon waking from a dream, I do not get any vibrations, even If I use the SP to reenter a Lucid. I'm assuming that the vibrations are not directly related to SP.

Anyone have any good articles about this?

Interesting, RB. I've never experienced vibrations when I WILD. Only loud noise (up to a level I feel like my head is going to explode). And all I do with that, is trying to relax to pass through it.

Last night I was in SP and was trying to push the vibrations to the highest level possible. I have never felt anything so intense. It felt like my head was going to explode. I don't want to give myself a stroke or something.
      Hehe, like that indeed...
But vibrations sound a lot more comfortable than the noise

Cool, sounds like you're training yourself to gain control over it.

Ohh, now I want to feel vibrations as well!!
