      possible dream world?

      Hello all!

Something just crossed my mind, and that being, do you thuink that when you dream, oyu are actually transported to n alternate dimension (or something like that)? like do you think our DCs could be walking and talking right now in this "dream world"? just something to ponder...
Do not try and bend the spoon--that's impossible. Instead only try and realize the truth...there is no spoon. Then you will see that it is not the spoon that bends

      it is only yourself

Well some spiritual people believe that when we sleep our spirits leave our bodies and enter the dream realm. It's how we OBE or something?

Well I am not spiritual and I don't beleive in any other demensions at least ones that are like the ones we live in, I beleive dreams use the same mechenisms as memory and imagenation utilizes, but instead of a poor quality picuture and maybe some feelings it becomes more stable as are physical bodys paralyse, when we have no physical feeling left we tend to get into the habbit of forming a body out of are inner senses used in memory and imagenation, then it builds slowly as a result of are sleeping mind having a one track focus and no physical body to think about, it reaches a point where we sink into it or "Trance" into it were it becomes stable" the only reason I beleive we seem to dream only in rem is because thats the stage of sleep witht he highest conscious for forming dream stuff and remembering it.

      Thats my theory.

My secound theory involves some kind of chemical put out either in rem sleep or all stages that hightens the inner senses, and stabilizes them. But when thinking about wild it really matters what triggers the chemical and if the first theory still applyes somewhat without the chemicals, for instence it could be called apon when are inner senses are highly stimulated, or the most likely when are body paralysis.

But I'm currently wondering what exactly does make the physical go to sleep, does it go to sleep when the mind does or does it go to sleep when we don't pay any attention to it. I'd like the latter to be true but I have unconveniant feelings that it's the first. If it were it would mean WILD is an illusion, which I beleive to be a possiblity from my own experiences, but I hope not.

I'm not spiritual either but I'm not as obtusely close minded as some who outright say its not possible. How would they know, without a shadow of a doubt, that dreams are not more than imaginary worlds locked up inside the head?

I'd like to believe that there is much more to dreaming than science can prove at this point in time. But right now, I've never experienced anything that would overwhelmingly make me believe that dreams are alternate dimensions or gateways to such. I'm keeping my mind open though.

Closed minds suffocate in small spaces.

*ahem* Good point. Just to clarify, I answered "no" to the question "do you think something-something."
