That thread there is the original thread I think that came up with the FILD technique, and should contain most of the information your looking for as far as tips go. Reliability can vary from person to person, and depends on how often you keep with it. Its kind of a mix with the WILD technique, so if you can do WILD decently, then FILD should be fairly easy for you to do.

Its an interesting Technique, and quite successful for many people, I would suggest looking into it if your having troubles with the other Induction Techniques.

As for making your own, since theres so many, to be honest, people are getting a little annoyed with there being so many, but if you have one that fits and can be made into an Acronym, then I say go for it lol.

How about DFMVSHWILD? Kinda putting all the ILDs into one super-technique. I call it the Dream-Finger-Memnonic-Visual-Sense-Wake-Induced Lucid Dream technique.

Haha, that'd be such a play on all these others, that I think people would find it amusing, especially if it happens to be an actual technique that you can explain.

I personally think it would be much better if they were just called "finger technique" or "dream sign technique" (DILD). It avoids all this ILD confusion...or...it could.

i tried it and was successful my first try.
haven't tried it much since then.
i still recommend it to beginners, as you skip SP.

can you tell me where I went wrong? ok, I set my alarm for 5 hours after I went to sleep. When I woke up, i fumbled around and turned off my alarm. After that I waited a little bit, then started doing the finger thing. I waited about 30secs, and did the nose RC. It failed so I tried to go back to sleep using WILD, which also failed.

Its hard to say where exactly you went wrong. If you did the technique right, then you didn't do anything, and your just like most other people. Some techniques are harder for others. Personally, I've never had success with FILD. And sometimes, you may have to try it a couple times before it'll work.

As for WILD, I would suggest trying it a few times per night if you can. If you try it once and it doesn't work, try again, and if it fails, try again afterwards. If you fail all 3 times, I'd just get some sleep, and then try again the next day. Thats how I'm doing it.

I've FILDded before and im trying it again. Its a reeeaaaaaallly good tech. to know if you wake up during the night alot!.

I think it's where you wiggle your finger as you fall asleep....lol
