      Help? Problem with Lucid Dreams...

      Hi all,

I have had lucid dreams for over 6 months now and I have them almost every morning but the problem is I can't do anything impossible. I can't fly, jump high, change environment, summon stuff,... I can only do things that are possible in real life. When I become lucid I find myself in my bad, in my house and everything is the same. The only thing I can do is jump thru closed window. I am otherwise fully aware that I am lucid and dreams usually last for quite some time. I tried to practice doing things that are impossible and I tell myself in dreams I can do this but so far no luck.
      Any suggestions?

      Thanks.

thats called a mind barrier(i read in ETWOLD book)

the reason you cant do the stuff is because you don't expect that you can do that stuff

If you haven't read it already, the Dream Control section of the main site should help you out: http://www.dreamviews.com/dreamcontrol.php.

You have to BELIEVE you can do it. Don't think you can't do it. Know that you are in control and you can do whatever you want to.

A good method for learning to control your dreams, is to first have your mind understand WHY you can control things. When your dreaming, you need to verbally tell yourself that, in your dream, everything you are seeing isn't real, it doesn't exist. Its all created by your mind. Because of that, you can change anything.

Its like what Anti-Flag said. You have a barrier in your mind that is blocking you from really believing you can do this stuff. So the first step, is understand WHY you can do it. After you understand why, then you can learn HOW.

How to control things varies from person to person, but can range from anything to using simple mind tricks (for example, a harry potter wand to do magic), to asking Dream Characters to do the stuff for you.

I would practice with simple things. Try reaching into your pockets and pulling things out that you want. Because its not in your vision, it should be easier to pull out and make it appear.

When you start small and simple, you start to convince your mind that you are in control, and that you can change things in your dream.

So next time your Lucid, don't actively try to change anything, but rather, find something, such as... a Spoon if your in your house, and work with that, and only that. It may not be as fun as some of the things you've read about, but you need to start small if your having alot of trouble. When you can successfully bend the spoon, make it float, disappear, re-appear, put it through the wall/floor/ect..., then you can move onto other things.

You just need to build your Dream Confidence and get your mind to really believe you can do this stuff.

Lets take a look from the other side of the barrier. I have exactly opposite problem. I have problems inducing lucid dream. But when i induce one, i can controll everything. You know. I can do everything. Flying, controlling things and people, ressurection. Also my non lucid dreams are full with irrealistic effects. And now to the point.

Having a great dream controll from the beginning can be discouraging, becouse you soon find out, that dreams are just and only illusions, and you shape them. Actually... I dont feel as excited when i get a LD, and therefore I dont get often.

This shouldnt directly help you with the problem, but should give you the motivation to explore the dreamworld. To explore yourelf within. You have lot to learn within a dream. And that is gonna be fun.

One more thing.... Of course you can. And you will overtime.

You have to belive in yourself. You are in complete control of your dream. If you are like "I am going to try to fly, but it probally wont work because it's impossible in real life", then you wont be able to fly.
