      My very first WILD

I have attempted WILDing many times (even before I knew the term for it), but I always become distracted when I start seeing images and forget that I am sleeping.

This morning I was having a strange and vivid dream during which I fell out of a high window. I did not know that I was dreaming at this point and jerked awake just before I hit the ground. After realizing I had been dreaming, I kept my eyes open for about 10 seconds and decided I wanted to go back into the dream, redo the fall, and not wake up before hitting the ground this time. So I closed my eyes, and it took a minute to get relaxed again, but I eventually recreated the scene of the window and began dreaming again. I climbed into the window and jumped out, fully lucid this time. The fall lasted quite a long time and it was quite invigorating. As I saw the ground approaching I got nervous though. I was still fully aware that I was dreaming, but sometimes I feel pain in my dreams so I got worried that it might hurt when I hit the ground. Alas, just before I hit the ground I woke up again.

So although I did not complete my plan of not waking up at the end of the fall, I am very excited to have created a scene when entering dream state, and to have maintained control and awareness!

that's awesome! I had a WILD last night where I flew up into the upper atmosphere. I wanted to go into space but I couldn't see any stars or anything so I decided it fall. I loooove falling sooo much! It's just feels so amazing, and you could never do that from that height without a suit or a parachute or by youself flying.

I know how you feel about being nervous about feeling the pain, but if you're able to go through walls you can just go through the ground. What I usually do though is just fall for however long I want to, then somehow switch to a random scene. I don't really know how I do it, I just do.

You could also make the ground a huge stretchy fabric, or like a trampoline and bounce really high

      I hope you have more!

Those are good ideas! Unfortunately, when LDing, I still forget how much control I actually have. I basically have learned to have control over myself and other DCs, but I always accept the environment around me as something stable and forget that I can change that too if I want. Now that I am becoming better at maintaining awareness, control will be my next goal!

Bricka, it sounds like you used a dream re-entry technique. Check out the tutorials section, especailly the tutorial on dream re-entry

If you really want to cash in on this, you can try a lucid dream induction technique that uses brief mid-night awakenings to slip into dreams. Check out iH8Reality's technique (but be careful of how much he likes to hype it up )

The main thing about control is knowing you can do anything. It sounds so simple, but its really hard. In my WILD last night, I made people appear by knowing they would be around the corner, and it worked. But if I tried to do something, like sometimes when I try to fly, I can't.

Remembering things in lucid dreams is hard, at least for me. I realized this when I was trying to do the lucid tasks of the month, and I've only done one so far. You just have to keep thinking about it, or keep reading whatever you want to do.

It's funny that you have control over yourself and DCs , but not your environment. It's the opposite for me, I don't really have much control over myself or DCs, just the environment.

I've had crazy lucid dreams in the beginning, so maybe that is why I don't wake up when something like that happens, anymore at least. I don't think theres anything in my lucid dreams that I would worry about hurting me, maybe because I don't have many dreams with pain, though I have had some, but they are always non-lucid.

I'm sure you'll be able to do it, and I can't wait to hear about when you can!
