      Can't Talk+Dream of Rollover Tech.?

Last night I went to sleep and had a few dreams and then I woke up.

Then I tried to go back to sleep and I don't even know if it was a dream of the rollover technique(where you roll into a lucid dream) or if I was actually doing it. I was in bed and SP had taken over my whole body. I rolled over and I was on the floor. I did a RC and I felt the pain, or at least I thought I did, and I thought I was awake. So I went over to the bathroom and my mom was in there. She heard me walk in and she turned around. I tried to say the word 'mom' but nothing came out of my mouth. Then I woke up and realized I was dreaming. Now the thing I don't know was whether I was dreaming the whole time and that there was a dream about me in SP and doing the rollover technique. Do you think it was all a dream or did I actually do the rollover thing?

Then I tried to go back to sleep and I was thinking about lucid dreaming. Then I started to have a dream about me being in my shower, but the shower head was on the wrong wall! I realized that so I thought I might be dreaming. I did a RC and it concluded that I was dreaming. Then I tried to yell out but again I couldn't speak! It was just like the other dream. I tried to think of what to do to make me able to speak such as knowing it was my dream and I could do what I want, but it didn't seem to work.

Has this ever happened to you?
Can you explain to me what happened?
Do you have any suggestions to make me able to speak?

Whenever I go throug SP It always feels like I wake up and fail going in to a dream. Then if I do a RC I realize that I`m in a dream. I have missed that I`m dreaming so many times just because I forget to RC after SP.... I just think I`m awake.....

Yes, many times.. Commonly called a false awakening.

Basically, during the transitional state between awake/asleep, alot of people feel like they just lose conciousness for like half a second, like just you very slightly wake up, alot more tired then you just were. But you know you we'rent "gone" for more then a minute or two, you just kinda feel like you almost fell asleep, but then woke up. Often times you are really dreaming that you are laying in bed waiting to fall asleep. Best thing to do anytime you have a brief awakening is to do a couple RC's.
Do you have any suggestions to make me able to speak?
Most likely the first time was because you just we'rent quite lucid enough, or perhaps theres just a mental block in your mind, very commonly once you experience a problem is a dream, you expect it to happen again and again, and so it does.

Realizing your dreaming, and knowing that you should be able to speak, and being able to speak, are two very different things.. At the end of the day your convinced that you cannot speak for whatever reason.. Instead of trying to.. scream louder, try to listen more closely.. Just think outside the box Very often sound is a sense you take for granted, sure you hear things happen, but 95% of it is background noise.. learn to distinguish different sounds, and.. listen to HOW they sound, not what they sound like..

Thanks, Shady, but do you think I actually was trying the rollover technique or do you think it was a dream about it?

Its hard to say, even from my own personal experiences.. I have been SO SURE that i was awake, but I would "wake up" soon after, and realize I was dreaming..

This might not make sense, but I mean.. usually my first "personal" reality check is I just ... get this weird vibe when im dreaming, its hard to explain, but dreams are just almost hazy.. not necessarily vision wise, but just... you feel funny. Hard to explain in words sorry.

All i can say is just preform some basic reality checks, just the other day I had a false awakening so vivid that I didnt realize I was dreaming untill I was driving to work and my radio was just messed, kept playing the same song over and over, and the numbers (97.7 for example) were the station names, and it was like real radio stations that I know.. everytime I hit my brakes the "station name" would change even if i was looking directly at it, which text usually doesnt do for me.. It would also change everytime i looked away.

Long story short, I wasnt fully lucid, so I just wasnt sure.. from what I did in my house while getting ready, everything was normal. Thinking back now, I can think of some obvious dreamsigns.. but at the time I was just so convinced I was awake, then the radio thing hit me like a bag of bricks. It sounds like that may be whats happening, experiment..

It sucks if you do your RC and you are really awake, sometimes you may have problems getting back to where you were prior to the RC.. but its worse when you are dreaming, fully lucid, and your laying in you bed trying to "fall asleep" which when you finally do, actually wakes you up. At least thats what happens to me. Hope this helps

I'm in the same boat, but for me it seems to happen in almost all of my dreams. I had my first lucid today and at the end I was trying so hard to tell my mother (in the dream) that I was having a lucid dream, but the words never come out. Even though I knew I was lucid, but I couldn't speak.... frustrating! I'll be working on that as well, hopefully we will be cured soon!

      I call these 'blended dreams'

where neither a full dream nor LD occurs, but it stays stuck somewhat in the center of the two, resulting in that weird state where you can't speak due to SP but you're in a dream state...it's hard to explain

Damn, this just proves how realistic lucids can be. We don't even know if we are awake or not. I've had a false awakening where it was morning and I walk to the bathroom to go pee. I then feel the actuall pee be running down my legs and I wake up. Kinda embarrassing but whatver.
