Longest LD Experience you can get

How long can you stay in a lucid dream? It would be cool to stay up all night. Problem is you would need to download your LD into shadow memory. So a good 1 hour would feel maybe like 2 hours. Wake up write it in a dream diary to exercise shadow memory recall. I've got a trick to get past the lack of REM state when you hit the void. Spin your dream body in a circle. That will retain hypnogic images and you will cheat waking up from being lucid in non REM.

I'm also really interested in this subject.
Ive personally been lucid for like 10 min in my dreams but Ive had dreams that have lasted what felt like 2 hours.
Can you be lucid for 2 hours and can a master lucid dreamer stretch out their dreams?
That would be awesome because I hear that some dreams can last days

Ive been lucid dreaming for quite a while now, and a long afternoon nap i had today with 3 or 4 separate lucids lasting about 2 minutes each inspired me to come find a good forum to share with others and learn about their own methods and experiences.

About two weeks ago I was trapped in a lucid dream that lasted about 2 hours perceptual time. It was horrible and amazing. I found myself inundated with an absurdly realistic environment, knowing it was either in my head, or that my astral body was witnessing parallel environments (which i think is more accurate according to the radical new M-theories in theoretical physics).

ANywayy.... to the point. Its all about oversleeping, or sleeping when you dont feel like you have to. You can really get into good consecutive lucids, but for me, I used the tricks that keep me lucid too much in that instance, and I got stuck. I thought I might have been dead. It was really really powerful Be careful! But Be Brave!

Anyone else have any similar experiences?

It's ok to have a long lucid dream. I really strongly believe that having a lucid dream in or out of your home is A-OK. The real fulfillment is to remember all your dreams with as much memory as possible. That way you remember living your dreams. That way you can stay up most of your night in a lucid dream. Think of lucid dreaming as your home world. And obeing out of a lucid dream as a alternative option.

15 years? That sounds like that one episode of TNG (if anyone else watches that lol) where Picard passes out and experiences a whole lifetime.

      LD Tasks:
      [ ] Have a bloody LD
[ ] Play lead guitar and/or vocals in a rock concert with TONS of people (yeah I've been playing a lot of Rock Band lately... lol)
[ ] Beat the tar out of select people...

Someone has claimed to have a 100 year lucid. Can't remember where I read it. Either "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" or the Wikibook on LDs.

My longest has probably been 20 minutes.

Whoa, was I ever wrong! I had a lucid that lasted 2 and a half hours this morning. I was woken by a call from work and looked at the time before I fell back asleep. I WILDed on purpose and experienced SP before I started dreaming. And everything was fairly continuous: I can't recall every detail now but there are no major gaps and I can recall all the major transitions.

Is this actually possible? I can scarcely believe it.

I have no idea how people can judge how long they were in an LD for, seeing as they were asleep. Anyone want to clarify this?

I can say that my longest happened during a 135 minute sleeping period, and that I would say it seemed to last maybe 10-15 minutes. Of course, I thought dreams only lasted for seconds, and I'd think that the total amount of time that it takes me to think through and relive the dream is probably the same length of time as it took to occur, if you know what I mean.

well if the dream seems to last a half an hour, and you wake up and your clock is a half an hour later than when you fell asleep, considering you fell asleep fairly quickly after looking at your clock, I think one might come to the conclusion that their lucid dream was in fact a half an hour long, wouldn't you say?

Well . . . when I know how long I've been lucid dreaming it's because I started with SP and was lucid immediately before I woke up (and had no major gaps in between). I also looked at my clock before and after. Still . . . there's no way to say for sure . . . I could have missed something.

But it did take me about an hour to write it down, and I was writing quickly and summing up repetitive parts.

There was a study done about this. I think its in the Laberge book, exploring the world of dreaming. It found that time spent in a dream is pretty much the same as real world time. The dreams that feel like days just trick you into thinking that.

And from my 2 lucids, ive spent an amazing 25 seconds combined in them.
