      Whats possible through Lucid Dreaming?

I'd like to know how Lucid Dreaming has influenced your conscious life?

In NLP & Hypnosis they believe the fastest way to change mentally is to send empowering messages to the sub-conscious.

So I wonder if its possible to mentally rehearse approaching women and starting conversations and using the energy from anxiety in a useful way.

To develop High Self Esteem, to develop strong & empowering beliefs of myself. To get over my fears by facing them directly consciously in real life and consciously while dreaming.

Can anyone here share what they believe is possible through the practise of Lucid Dreaming?

Are there limits that Lucid Dreaming can have on you?

Im also interested to hear about being able to experience things like euphoria in Lucid Dreams that continue on after you've woken up in the morning.

Is it possible to experience euphoria to the level that ecstacy supplies?

Is it possible to have COMPLETE control over your dreams and do whatever you want in them?

      Whats possible?

I'm not sure about your other questions but you can definitely have complete control over your dreams. I do quite a bit. I have fun with it. I direct the dream, I can bring specific people into the dream. It's amazing.

I'm interested in hearing people answer your other questions. Those would be something fun to learn to do.

      What's possible?

Ideally, in lucid dreams anything is possible.

As for it affecting your conscious life, I think it's possible to varying degrees. It depends on the person and his/her goals in regards to lucid dreaming. Someone who seriously set out to better themselves via LDs will most likely show more progress than someone who LDs merely for the thrill of it.

You should rather ask what's nót possible.

If you want it, you can dream it. That's the only rule there with Lucid Dreaming.

I think practicing control in your lucid dreams can help empower you to exert control on your real life. You can do anything you want in your dreams, but you can also do a lot more than you think in your real life. Taking chances, putting yourself out there, living each day to the fullest. I think the confidence and momentum gained in your dreams can carry over into your waking life.

It is also neat to find out that your subconscious mind does exist. Its eye opening to have a discussion with a person that is completely made up by your brain, and see how they react. See what they have to say. Sometimes they can even surprise you with information you thought you never knew. It really shows you that your brain is bigger than your day to day thoughts.

Agreed, it shows the inner power of experimentation.

I used LDing to stop nightmares I had related to PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder). Because it was so effective I also was able to stop taking medication I took for PTSD nightmares.

I freqnently use LDs in other ways to improve my mental health. Having a hotline directly to my subconscous has prooved incredibly useful in dealing with depression, fears, and poor self esteem. Since begining working on using LDs for this purpose I take much less psychiatirc medications. I still take some, but that is where I am right now and is fine with me.

I have used LDs to rehearse situations I knew would be hard for me. Conftronting my mother about some shit she was doing. Worked pretty well. I was surprised how closely her reaction in the dream mirrored her reaction in waking life.

I have experienced euphoria in dreams that continued on in waking life. Genearally it lasted in waking life between 20 minutes and 2 hours. I've never used extasy, so I don't know how what I felt would compare to that kind of high. The dream induced euphoria was incredible. Like being swallowed by a loving, benevolent god. And that is how I got the euphoria, dreaming about meeting god (or what/who ever).

      Im 100% committed.

Im aiming etremely high with my goals. Im willing to do whatever it takes to make this happen. Discovering and expanding on new ways to enhance the human experience.

I mean yeah Im definitely also doing this to do the fun stuff too.

I'm working hard at this so within 5 years it will be TIGHT.

I want to have the option to just start flying.

I want to have the total option to teleport to different places in the world like in the movie "Jumper" - But also able to travel the universe.

I want the option to slide down the rainbow.

I want to be able lay down on the clouds and look up into the starry night.

The list goes on. Ideally I'll be at a level where I can choose what I want to do and immediately make it happen.

I dont see any reason why I can't access euphoria in my dreams and have that state continue on into my waking life. I want to be able to access these things at will.

Im going to push the limits of what is possible and make things i thought were impossible happen.

Im very exited about this as you can probably tell. I suppose people dont usually come into this with specific goals. This is just the type of guy I am.

Actually, due to the fact that everything you are trying to accomplish is going to take place inside your head anyway, you will probably find it extremely helpful and useful to create specific goals and concentrate on them. It certainly has for me.

Even if you don't actually accomplish your lucid goals right away, having these lucid goals beforehand will probably increase your chance of simply becoming lucid at all.

PRODIGY, make sure you take it in steps. At the beginning, you can waste valuable LD time by trying stuff that might not work (or work so briefly its frustrating). The best advice I will give you is to try and stabilize the dream. It is the hardest, but the most basic and important task you will ever have in LDing.

My technique is mentioned by DeBarge, but fully stated in importance by Carlos Castenada's teachings with Don Juan. Look at your hands! When you first realize that you are in a dream you have just entered the LD state. Look at your hands up close. Study them, all the ridges, lines, patterns/prints, etc. Then, go about the dream however you want. When you feel yourself losing lucidity (normally because you get excited) look back at your hands and focus on them being your anchor in retaining lucidity. Practice, practice... and try not to get too excited (control your emotions) in the LD and you will find it easier to attain stability.

You can use your hands, or any patterned/complex texture in the dream landscape to concentrate on to anchor yourself.

      Good luck.

      Yeah that happened last night.

I was arguing with a bus driver in my dream. Bam I realised I was dreaming.

To smooth things over with the bus driver I brought in STEVE SANDERS from Beverley hills 90210. I could feel myself getting excited about the whole ordeal and sorta waking up. I kept it going for a bit but I woke up!

      Damn!

Steve Sanders? That's pretty damn hilarious.

Nice job on the lucid! Many more to come. Have you checked out the Task of the Month section? It may help you see how people accomplish their goals, and the fun unexpected things that can happen.
