      Sleeping With Music On

Would this be a distraction? I sleep with music on pretty much every night, calming stuff like Ambient (Brian Eno, Robert Rich, etc.) great stuff to sleep to. And I was always thinking that it would invoke better dreams. I also sleep with the TV on. I find that when I turn off the TV and the music and the room is completely silent I have much better dreams.

A funny thing is, that last lucid dream I had was triggered by a song. The song is called "How Many Worlds" by Brian Eno. And there are lyrics that go like this:

Thinking of a world and the light of the sun
And all the many lives that were ever begun,
      Ever begun.

Our little world turning in the blue
As each day goes there's another one new,
      Another one new.

How many people will we feed today,
How many lips will we kiss today,
      If we wake up?

How many worlds will we ever see,
And how people can we ever be,
      If we wake up?

Thinking of a world in the light of the sun
And all the many lives that were ever begun,
      Ever begun.

I am pretty sure that the lyrics "If we wake up?" triggered the lucid dream for me, cause it was the song that was playing when I awoke. It's interesting how music can take away from dreams at some times and add to them at others. What do you guys think?

i use the sleep timer. as i get sleepier i grow more sensitive to noise + get OCD and shit and end up turning it off

but on occasions when the TV or music is on, or someone's mouth is running, it usually does manifest in my dreams.

maybe you could utilize the effects of music on dreams for your own purposes - when i'm out of lucid goals i'll experiment with it. music triggers interesting dreamscapes

      interesting

As long as it doesn't interfere with your sleep behaviors.

i think that triggering a LD by a song is pretty common. i have a friend who listened to a song that says something like blah blah blah 3:00a.m. and that is the time that she woke up
