      Talking I finally did it!!!

I had my first lucid dream last night. I was reading my book last night, and I had read about 70 pages by the time I fell asleep, then I had a dream that I was the main character in my book, and I was experiencing the same thing I had just read. I feel so great now that I have finally experienced my first lucid dream, after over a year and a half of trying I was starting to think I just couldn't do it, and I hope I can do it again.

I think it's really cool that you were able to finally have one, your the first person other then my brother that I know in real life that ever had or tried to have a lucid dream, I think you could have more if you put in the effort. If you try a variety of techniques of different types you'll find one that works well for you.

congratulations! It's always a great feeling when you finally realize that you are dreaming. I've had dreams where I've realized that I could do anything I want, and controlled many things, but didn't realize I was dreaming. That is how I discovered Lucid dreaming, actually. I'm in your position, now. I'm trying to get my lucids more frequent now. Keep trying! Now that you know it is possible, hold on to that feeling. It really helps!

Very nice. Now just focus on keeping the mind-set of having Lucids.

Congratulations Jackson! And welcome to Dream views!

That just goes to show how persistence will eventually pay off. I often get Lucid after a couple hours of reading as well.

I hope this motivates you to have many more. Good Luck!

Congrats. But I wonder why it wasent happening to you before? It is easy to experince a lucid dream.

I wouldn't say thats the case for everybody, nobody is the same when it comes to the mind, what you find easy could be near impossible for others.

With practice, technique it can be easy. Jackson, have you tried the tutorial in this forum? I am a newbie in lucid dream and all but I think you should check it out if you want to gain lucidity in dreams more often.

Congratulations! I haven't had any lucid dreams for years now (at least it seems like years.. probably just a year or one and a half) and am frustrated about the many times I wake up almost every morning and realize I had a feeling in the dream I just had the moment before that there was just something wrong! It seems like it's really hard for me nowadays to pass this stage and actually know why there's something wrong!

Congratulations on your first LD, is a great feeling when you do it for the first time and it nevers goes the memory of it (along with the great feeling it brings). My first time was when i was dreamflying and i realize "I do not fly in real life" and voila, i was concious that i was dreaming, but i keept flying though.

Congratulations again and is about to get better with practice.
