      How to be lucid earlier?

Most of my LDs happen very late in the dream, I was wondering whether anyone here developed a way to be lucid earlier other than WILDing. I can't think of any way to do that.... I use dreamsigns to remind me to RC and I always see them near the end of the dream as a result get lucid late, my guess is that the dreamsigns are stored in the concious mind more than the subconcious. Another thing I'm wondering is that LDing involves conciousness. In common sense being concious means being awake so that means LDs are rarely as long as NDs because your near to waking up? I know I have had super long LDs but they are rare. Just want to know for sure whether LDs are still worth persuing since they happen so late in the dream for me to do anything and prolonging the dream seems impossible because I wake up like a normal dream with no warning that I'm waking up....

I can't answer your question directly, but, I would recommend that you visit the dream control section and read up on techniques to maintain the dream. I think that you are misinterpreting "late lucidity" (a new concept coined by you), with premature lucidity (lack of ability to maintain lucidity, or lucidity that doesn't last long). I am sure that this section will help you.

Just keep practicing. Your mind will become lucid earlier if you encourage yourself whenever you become lucid (even if it's late). It's a skill that comes with practice!
