So close to WILD and yet so far

I know there are an ungodly amount of threads about people not able to WILD.
AND I WANT TO MAKE ONE TOO.
      Anyway.
After I've tried several techniques, I've discovered that none of them work. The only way I've ever LD's is through DILD and this isn't frequent enough for my to be getting used to Lucid Dreaming and learning to control the dreamscape. Whenever I've tried WILD, I've gone into a semi-Sleep Paralysis where my legs were under heavy SP and my arms under a lighter SP, and when in SP I could never sleep. It's not that I found it uncomfortable, it's just that I couldn't sleep.

Desperate, I tried binaural beats last night, and it put me into the deepest SP I've ever been in. I thought for once I was actually going to wild, and that got my heart rate up, getting my excited and waking me up a bit. I calmed down and even got to the point where I was slipping into a feeling of floating in a void, but dammit I couldn't sleep while concentrating on the beats or a mantra of any kind. And even worse then that, when I broke SP and just let my mind drift until I finally fell asleep, when I woke up I couldn't remember any dreams at all.

      HALP?
Things done in LD dreams : Levitated other people, stopped cars, made people speak gibberish...

I've yet to have a WILD yet too, but I do try quite a bit. My problem is that I seem to get used to it slowly, SP has many stages to it and I'm only able to proceed to the next one after I've gotten used to the previous ones.
From my little experience I think it's just that you need to experience it more. Once you get used to the feeling of SP and begin to think nothing of it, you'll be able to move on closer to actually achieving a WILD. I also suggest you try not to concentrate too hard on the beats/mantra/ect;, it seems best to try to be as laid back as possible without actually falling asleep.

Quick, important question: Do you attempt your WILDs in combination with the WBTB method, or no?

WILDs never worked for me, at least for when I tried, because I can never fall asleep if I'm concentrating. I just let my mind imagine scenes and situations so my imagination and mind don't feel so locked up behind bars.

What i think might help is when you enter into SP dont focus on the beat any more focus in on your mind and slowly develop a dream in your mind. after focusing in on that for awhile you should slip into it.
