      Exclamation Approximatly 14 days.

I'm setting a nice goal for myself. I have approximately 14 days left until school starts. I really REALLY need to get back into Lucid Dreaming now.

My dream recall is so-so...I would like to have better dream recall, but I really do not want to keep a Dream Journal as I know that I won't do a very good job looking after it.

I want to accomplish ONE of my goals for Lucid Dreaming in less than 14 days, and I want Dream Views to help me with this goal.

      My goal list (in order):
      1) Summon my Dream Guide
      2) Spawn thousands of Cat Girls
      3) Make the Cat Girls into my maids and live in giant mansion
      4) Have a reoccurring dream
      5) Make something from a dream, appear in real life (possible?)

I would have to say I'm more of a passive dreamer, as in, I let things happen as the dream would want.
But, I also seem to have somewhat good control. I'm able to fly when I want, and I have been able to do a few super-human things.

I have attempted my #1 goal many many times, and have never been able to call out my dream guide. I'm unsure why, but I just can't. So, I guess I'll have to accomplish my other goals first.

So first off, I need to find a technique that suits me. I'm thinking that one of the WILD techniques would be best for me, as it only said that when you wake up in the middle of the night, to just lay still and fall back asleep, while visualizing something(?).

Then, I need to do reality Checks. I constantly check the time. I've always done this normally, and not just for Lucid Dreaming, but it's only helped a few times. What are some other Reality Checks I could do that won't look weird? I know there's the nose RC and finger-through-the-hand RC but those seem kind of ridiculous, and I don't want to do those in public.

So please Dream Views, I'm begging you for some help! And if need be, I'll try to write something up in a dream journal on here.

Edit: I currently have a Lucid Dream mp3 Remix that I listen to at least once a day before I go to bed. Music would be a great thing to have, as I could listen to it in school or when I'm playing on the computer.

You really should keep a dream journal. It's not hard, just keep it right next to your bed and write down whatever you remember as soon as you wake up.

Not sure what you mean by this. But if you are speaking in the literal sense, I can assure you this is -not- possible at all. The only thing you can bring out of a dream are emotions and memories. You're never going to pick and flower in a dream and find it next to you in bed the next morning.

I remember reading somewhere on this forum that this lady was talking to some angles in her dream and they handed her something, and when she woke up she had a ring in her hand. She asked everyone around and they didn't know where it came from.

14 days... ouch, that's really soon. I have 33 more days before I have to go back.

If you're not using a dream journal, the next best way to remember dreams is right when you wake up, review as much as you can remember in your head. You can even do this in the shower or while eating breakfast. I find that if I review a dream at least once or twice in my head, I can remember it for 2 - 5 days later. You can even review them again a few days later if you want to remember them for longer.

As for reality checks, there are variations of the plug your nose and try to breathe one. Just holding your breath and trying to breathe is the same thing, and no one can tell you're doing it. Or see if you can notice that you have a nose sort of in your range of vision. For me, when I'm looking at anything, I always have a phantom nose. It's more obvious when you look down. This is also not noticeable by others.

For the finger through the hand one, you can try to sneak that one in while stretching or something. Or just see if your hands are normal (4 fingers and a thumb on each, no claws or gangly fingers). This also takes just a glance and I don't think anyone would be suspicious.

You can also do a mental reality check. Try to remember everything you did previous to what you're doing now. Did you have a normal morning? Can you remember what you did yesterday? Does your current situation make sense? If you're not dreaming, there should be some continuity to your memories.

Schmaven has some great RC suggestions. However, when you do your RCs be sure to put some real thought into them or they likely won't work properly in the dream. Think about what you are doing and why.

Look at your hands for more than a moment. Watch to see if they change. Count your fingers, then count them again. When you hold your breath do it for longer than is comfortable. Wait to see if you can feel air entering your lungs and breathing, even though you are holding your breath. The "mental reality check" is a wonderful idea. That is my main RC. Ask yourself if you can explain how you got to where you are and does this explanation make sense.

From your description maybe you want to DEILD? Here is the newest, most "complete" tutorial.

Good luck! Keep positive and know you can do it!

Start a dream journal, and do RC's daily. You'll be having LDs in no time.

How often should I do a RC? Like every 30-60 minutes?

The more often you do them, the better your results will be. Assuming that you legitimately check reality each time and not just go through the motions. Actions turn into habits.

and to add to this, only write down key words and parts. don't try to write the whole story. You'd be supprised that you'd remember the dream from a month ago by just looking at the key parts.

He's right, one time I woke up after having a really long dream, and was too lazy to write it all down, so I just wrote down 20 or so key words. The next day I was going to try to write it down in full, but just that list of key words was enough for me to remember the entire dream, and in detail. That was over 2 months ago, and I just reread the same list, and can fully recall the dream. I think I might start writing down all my dreams in this way actually.

Well, holding your nose and breathing is good, but just plain holding your breath is not a good RC, because it only works if you try holding your breath longer than physically possible, which is not healthy... Plus it's noticable, which defeats the purpose!

When should you RC? Whenever you go, "What just happened?!" Don't do it every hour or something because that doesn't work well. Just do it when something weird happens, so it's less habitual. Otherwise, it may work, but you're so used to it NOT working you won't do anything!
What if I told you that I am dreaming right now?
That your whole life is a lie?
That the laws of physics as you know them are incorrect?

Furthermore, what would you do if I told you I'm going to wake up as soon as you finish reading my signature?

Try doing RCs when coincidences or unexpected things happen then. Or change your definition of weird

Yeah. Anything unusual. Even something as simple as looking at the clock and seeing 3:33 or something.

Especially if you see 6:66! XP
