      Frequent Lucid Dreams

Ive been having Lucid Dreams everynight for the past few weeks. In my dreams I have 100 percent total control over what I do and think. I do have some sense of this is a dream. I have been told that it is really really difficult to read things while dreaming. In the past few dreams I have been able to reconize money. I can reconize it like when your consious and you place a 5, 10, 20 dollar bill on the table, you can easily reconize which one is the 20. Also I have been able to read room numbers clearly. I can walk away from where im reading these numbers and come back and still read and process what the numbers are and the numerical value of them. You know how people say they cant really remember their dreams or can only remember then briefly, maybe for the first five minutes of them being concious. Well I dont only remember them for minutes or hours, but days after I have had the dream.

Now let me give you a little info about me. I have been diagnosed with primary insomnia. I have tryed every sleep aid under the sun. The only thing that has helpt me is Seroquel. So I am currently perscribed Seroquel to help me sleep. I also am perscribed to have a sleep study done. So I dont know if it the Seroquel that is giving me the Lucid Dreams. I dont dont know if these are stimming from things that I am thinking of as Im drifting into sleep. Could it be from things that I have seen on TV that gives me some of the things that I dream about. I dont know much about Lucid Dreams except for the definition a Lucid Dream or what they are. So I have been writing everything that I dream down. You could say a Dream Journal. I am doing thing so I can talk with my shrink about all this.

Keeping a dream journal (like you are) surely increases dream recall. Some also say that lucid dreams are more easy to remember than non lucid dreams.

We tend to dream about things related to what we have been through for the last few days. I don't know what your dreams are like, but it sounds likely that they can be influenced by whatever you have watched on TV.

For how long have you been on Seroquel? If you had already been on it before you started having lucid dreams every night, then Seroquel is likely not it.

I hope that answers some of your questions.

Lucidity can be unpredictable for most lucid dreamers, so I'm not surprised that you had a few night "off".

I started to enjoy them. They were still weird dreams, but they always were fun though. I mean I had some intense dreams! They were always more or less "action packed" I guess you could say. I didnt know I could have so many frequent lucid dreams and then just not stop having those types of dreams. Im just really new to all this stuff.

Since you've already had them that frequently for a few weeks, I think it will go back to that. Most lucid dreamers hit a dryspell now and then, whether it lasts for a few weeks or a few nights. Nothing to worry about.

Sweet because I really did start to like them. Plus I always seemed to wake up so much more refreshed and well rested. I dont know if it because I am having these dreams that are working out my mind while I sleep. But like I said Im new to all of this. So I dont know much and am trying to make sense of this I guess.

I still think the Seroquel is probably a big factor. I looked it up the last time someone mentioned it here months ago, it's known to cause strange dreams. You're lucky, it seems more people react to Seroquel by having horrible nightmares than by having good dreams, at least according to the people that posted here. Apparently it also can bring other side effects that are even worse, so you should try and find something else that works, if you can.

You dont even know exactly how many different types of sleeping medication. I dont know where you are getting your facts from, but both my doctor and medical sites say that Seroquel is perfectly safe.

Well, I'm going by all anecdotal evidence, so I admit that I could be totally wrong.

I was prescribed seroquel once for insomnia. Well they thought it was insomnia, it's actually non-24 hour sleep wake syndrome, but thats another post. Regardless it managed to make me drunk like and even less able to sleep than normal. I always have remarkable dream recall and with a dream journal it's just ridiculous, but almost any substance ruins it. I can't say for sure how it would have affected me since I never fell asleep on the stuff, but I suspect it woulda wiped out my recall.

Yea I have primary insomnia, it makes me fall asleep. But I wake up frequently during the night. But around 6 am is when I fall into deep REM and have my LD. But last night, I had 3 different LD that from what I can recall just started right after another.

In trying to figure this out we must remember that correlation does not imply causality. If I were you I would try to figure out if anything else at all changed at the time you began taking this Seroquel. If so then look at that as a possibility too, if not then you can be a little more certain. I cannot imagine that substance giving anyone anything enjoyable but hey. If you can think of no other variables that changed during the same time frame, then I'd point to the Seroquel as the cause, be it a placebo effect or real chemical process.

nothing in that time frame correlates to my LD except for the Seroquel.
