      Near Death Lucidity

Has anyone else here ever had a dream where you are pretty much lucid, but mistake the dream state for a near death experience?

I've had quite a few of these now. The funny thing is how absolutely relaxed I am about entering these states. The first time it happened I just tried to go through a wall for a while. The last time it happened I found that I was trying to make the dream vivider and vivider while getting deeper and deeper into my subconscious.

Its an interesting state to experience. I mentioned it to a flat mate and apparently she's experienced it too.

Wow, I've actually never had that happen to me, it sounds interesting. Interesting how the mind can actually take things in lucid dreams as reality.
Question: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
      Answer: Neither, single-celled organisms did.

I've attempted to leap from a shopping mall platform to an adjacent one over a 20 metre gap, 30 metre drop. As I leaped it was evident that I was far from reaching the other side, and I began to fall at a realistic speed. My heart raced, and andrenaline pumped through my body...I was, effectively, scared. However, in mid-fall I asserted to myself that: 'I cannot die, it's not possible', and in doing so a beam rose out from the floor beneath me, passed through my arms and slammed into the roof. Without wait, I quickly grabbed the beam and slid down...I calmed down and felt very surprised. Surprised that I never woke up, and at the sheer realism (except for the rising beam) of it.

That's the closest that I've had. Not sure if that's what you're referring to, however.

Thats an awesome experience, but no. Not quite. Its more like, you believe yourself to be dead or dying, but accept it.

I had a dream earlier this summer (closer to spring time) where I was having a lucid dream. Then I believe that I was dying. I wondered if I was really dying -- physically. Then I suddenly felt this overwelming sense of peace. I just accepted it. I figured if I was dying that was okay with me. And if I somehow survied, that was okay too.

I had lucid where my friend was driving a car, he crashed in a tree and i really though i died, but it didn't matter that time, because i had soo many problems on my head that death for me was a relief.
