How to remember something you want to do in a lucid dream?

Hey, I really want to try to master control in my lucids, but I always get sidetracked and forget completely like "hmm, what was it that I wanted to do.."

It's like, I can't. For the life of me, remember what I wanted to do once I'm asleep. Last night is a good example. I wanted to try playing around with elements but I ended up driving a car impossibly fast off impossibly safe ramps (was hella fun, but I still forgot what I originally wanted to do).

I've tried repeating to myself before I WILD what I want to do, but its like the message never gets across. I've also tried writing it down several times with no success. Anyone have any other ideas?

Just a note that I'm guessing I'll probably remember now that I've made this topic..

Ohhhh man, this happens to me all the time. I don't really know what to tell you. A few times I have remembered what I want to to, but too often I get sidetracked. I really wanted to try and invent a new color, but in my lucid dream last night I ended up beating up some bad guys. I think if you can remember what you want to do really easily in real life, you could probably remember it in a lucid dream. The trick would be to just not start doing anything immediately when you turn lucid, and instead to just sit and think about what to do for a bit.

Invent a new colour? Isn't that impossible? (Because our eyes already see all the colours they can?) =P

Gl, anyways. Thanks for the tip. Will probably have a hard time remembering to sit and think for a minute though, hah.

yep. dont act at once, first think. ^^
+ have you tried autosuggestion? when falling asleep, just repeat "i wanna play with the elements" to your self. btw, do you wanna play with phosphat and oxygen elements ^^ or fire, water, earth and air? if you mean the latter, youve got the same target i have
      LD goals:
      - fire- [*DONE*], water-, earth- and airbending
      - running up a skyscrapper
      - flying
LDs total: (some in my childhood, but) 3

Well the first thing everybody wants to do while lucid is fly. So that should be really easy to remember. But hey at least you did something cool.

Flying isn't always the first thing. I actually don't like dream flying, it's never realistic enough and usually wakes me up. Until I figure out how to make it more stable and realistic, there are many, many other things I'd rather do

I seem to have a different problem from you guys, which is that I sit there in my lucids trying to remember what the heck it was I wanted to do, but not being able to access the memories properly. I literally sit around trying to remember, then give up or just try whatever I can recall, even if it's not at the top of my list haha

Are you guys taking the time to stabilize your dreams before anything else? Making sure you're in a high state of lucidity should keep you from getting distracted easily. When you are first lucid, look around at things, talk out loud, touch things, smell the air, listen for ambient sounds and etc. Try to just keep it to boring things, so that you don't get distracted. Once you feel nice and stable and have your task in mind, then I'd go about trying to do it.
